Just as he finished his sentence, an arm came flying out of nowhere flying past you, and grabbed kars neck. In surprise, you turned towards him. And in that moment, another ticking sound reached your ears.

However, this one was shorter. There were only 5 ticks before ticking stopped, and an extremely bright light appeared before the explosion happened. Your body realized it before your brain did, that you were in danger. However, your brain cannot be said to belong to only you.

Even in moment the bomb exploded, your brain commanded your body to do only one thing.

Protect. Stop the attack from causing any possible harm to him. The blast was strong enough to send large chunks of rocks flying above the clouds. You were already running the moment you heard the third tick. But the moment you heard the 4th tick, your brain decided that it wasn't a day to be saving your own life.

Nope. Your body followed the brains commands, and you ran towards Kars. you didn't expect him to grab you and bring you away from the explosion. However, he wasn't fast enough, and you jumped in front of him as the bomb exploded. You weren't sure if it was just you, but you could have sworn you heard someone call your name.

You took in a deep breath as the bright light consumed you.

'It hurts...' As debris and many other things came flying at you, you stood your ground. Everything hurt, and you couldn't tell where you were severely  injured anymore.

Once things settled down, you Immediately collapsed onto the ground. Everything hurt. You didn't know why your brain told you to stand in front of him when he was a perfect being, but your brain was correct this time. a huge chunk of the ground was missing, and when you looked up at the sky, you could barely see the piece of land in the sky.

And other then that, it seems that Joseph and his allies prepared something else if that didn't work. You were impaled with metals of different kinds, and one of them that had pierced through your stomach had the red stone on it.

Now that the whole explosion thing was over, you could feel everything. The broken bones, the metal stabbed into your body, and wounds opening back up. You grunted, pulling the metal out slowly.

That was when you noticed both Kars and Joseph walking towards you. You wanted to get up, but every muscle in your body was screaming no. Forcing you to lift your head, you could feel blood gushing out of your wounds.

"No..." You muttered as your body screamed at you. You know it yourself, but you weren;t ready to accept it just yet. You knew it was the end of the line for you, but you weren't ready to leave just yet. You still had something you wanted to do.

Joseph approached you, a few meters away from you with his eyes wide. He seems to be fine, nothing but a few cuts. It seems he somehow avoided the things sent flying by the explosion. It also seems like he didn't expect you to jump to protect kars.

A few moments later, you felt something from the metal that pierced your stomach. Sharp needle-like things extend from the metal, securing itself in your body. At this point, your body couldn't handle it any more.

"Not yet..." you said as blood dripped out of your mouth. "Not yet. I'm not ready to go yet." This was not the life you wanted, not the life you wished to live. Longer. You wanted to live longer. You wanted to wake up in the morning, back inside that dark building, and go on with your day, following orders given to you.

As your eyelids became more and more heavier, and your breathing more ragged, you spoke. "I don't wanna die yet..." Joseph stared at you as tears fell from your eyes, and the air was starting to feel rather cold.

"You've done well y/n." Kars said, kneeling in front of you, and brought you closer to him, letting your head rest on his shoulder.

"I-I failed. I failed! I'm sorry. I'm sorry..."

"It's fine y/n. You've served me well." You coughed out blood, and your eyes began to close.

'I'm tired...'

"Rest." He said rather softly. The last thing you felt, was his arms around you, and his somewhat comforting words as your life reached its final few seconds.

"L..lord Kars..."

"Even in her final moments, even her last words are about you huh. She's really loyal." Joseph said as the pillarman gently placed your now cold body on the ground. It was silent for a moment before he spoke again. "Did you mean those words you said to her?"

"She's the only human that was fit to live." Kars said glaring at the male. "I'll end your life painfully. It's only right that i do."
