In the Big Boss's office as the employees like to call it; Xiao Nai led his girlfriend over to his desk and motioned for her to sit behind the computer. Once she did, he lent over to open a file to have Weiwei read. Catching her breath at their close proximity, Weiwei turned her attention to the screen and read. As she finished the first few lines she turned her head to look at her boyfriend in question. "A request to be the guests of honor at the opening ceremonies for the gaming convention at the start of next month. But that's only twelve days away. When did this come in?"
"Just the other day, I had planned on using it as an excuse to get you to return earlier if you did not agree to coming home early last night. Feng Teng thought it would be a good way to have each of the teams be introduced for the start of the season in a few weeks." Xiao Nai explained.
"Clever." Weiwei muttered to herself. She had to admit that it was a good backup plan to get her back to Beijing sooner if she had said no again last night. "So that means, that..." she trailed off.
"The photoshoot and promotional video are all going to be pushed forward. I did not expect you to arrive for at least a few more days. I had not set the new schedule yet because I was waiting to get your travel information before doing so. Not that I am complaining about your swift return. I am in fact quite pleased about how my morning run was canceled the way it was. I will need to contact the marketing teams this morning and get the media shots processed and approved before the new deadline next week." Xiao Nai informed her. "Your first on camera stream date has not changed from two weeks from now. I think it would bring more focus to your channel if you are publicly introduced prior to your stream. If you prefer we can change it to be a team stream instead of just you."
Weiwei listened to what her boyfriend was saying and readily agreed to the updated schedule but told him that she would go ahead and keep it just her for her first on camera stream just for now but she may change her mind if the convention performance did not go as planned. She should not hide behind him or the others if she could help it. His logic was sound from a business perspective so she could not find fault in any of his plans. Since she had already agreed to the plans she then asked what she would be doing in the meantime besides practicing in the evenings with him and the others. She didn't like the idea to just sit around and do nothing all day. It wasn't her style to be that idle while others were busy. With a devilish grin she suggested being a non-paid intern; it would give her the insight that she needed to be in the field after she graduated, she insisted. Giving a small chuckle at his wife's boldness, Xiao Nai gave a suggestive look as he teased that getting something for free causes suspicion and that Weiwei would just have to take him as payment for interning. Making Weiwei blush at the innuendo.
The moment that Xiao Nai opened the door the couple saw all the men who were supposed to be working in a large huddle and loudly whispering amongst themselves like gossiping housewives. Only a man dressed all in black was doing any kind of work at the moment. Deciding to break up the crowd in the most awkward way, Xiao Nai loudly cleared his throat before telling everyone to get back to work in a no nonsense tone and telling Yu Banshan to stay where he is. The rest of the employees scattered like cockroaches when they heard the big boss's voice. Smirking, he told Yu Banshan that he was in charge of showing Weiwei the ropes and to have her setup in the quality control department once he was done. Checking his watch Xiao Nai told the two that he needed to return to his office for a conference call. The Great Master gentility placed his hand on Weiwei's hair and gave a small kiss to the crown of her head and whispered to stay out of trouble. Smiling at the request, Weiwei just nodded and said that she would behave.
Yu Banshan coughed awkwardly then started to give Weiwei a tour of the office. Taking his time introducing her to each of the departments with great flourish. Taking time on telling her tiny bits of gossip with each area. Even pointing out that the guy in black was a famous hacker that her husband had recruited in a very hush hush way. Weiwei had to shake her head at how much of a gossiper Yu Bandshan has turned out to be. Finally making their way into the quality control department Yu Banshan led Weiwei to the desk of a man that moments before he had warned her to keep her distance with because of his gynophobia but then he changed his mind and told the man, Ah Shuang that he would be in charge of Weiwei's internship from then on out. Ah Shuang was less than pleased and waved at Weiwei to go find a desk far, far away from him. Muttering on how females in technology are useless causing the young woman to look him dead in the eye with a deadly glare telling him he was wrong and she will prove it too.
