"smoking pot"

JEREMIAH AND MATILDA quickly unpacked her bags before dinner considering they were the last ones to show up while everyone waited for them. It was no surprise that Matilda was always late to things, but usually she was late with the other brother, Conrad, not Jeremiah.

"Finally!" Steven yelled once he saw the two running down the stairs and into the dinning room, they quickly made their way to their unassigned assigned seats. Matilda always sat next to Conrad and her mom, but now it was just an empty chair. She tried not to think too much of it, but being in this house with her not being with them anymore is so hard for the teenage girl.

"Sorry guys."

"Yeah sorry, we lost track of time." The girl told, slightly giggling with the boy across the table. She couldn't help but notice that Conrad rolled his eyes at her, but she figured it was best to ignore it.

"That's sus." Steven pointed out before pulling out his phone. "Jere, look at this."

"Steven, I swear to God, if you look at that phone one more time, I'm putting it in the screen basket." Laurel threatened her son while he tried showing Jeremiah something on his phone.

"It's just that we want to see your beautiful faces." Susannah backed up. "Can dinner be a screen free zone? You know, like the olden days."

"Steven." Jeremiah scolded after he wouldn't get off his phone.

"Dude, are you kidding me?" He shouted after Jeremiah took his phone out of his hands and tossed it into the basket that sat on the counter.

"Boom! Nailed it."

"Okay, okay, okay, we get it, you've been working out." Steven teased.

"Oh, you're just jealous because Jere has a better body than you." Belly chimed it making Matilda laugh, but slightly regretting it once she felt a glare from Steven.

"Uh, no, actually it's all about the lean look now." Steven tried to defend. "Otherwise, you can't wear tailored suits."

"Sure, sure."

"Tailored suits." Conrad commented from the other end of the table.

"When would you ever wear a tailored suit anyway, Steven?" Matilda asked, causing him to roll his eyes.

"I'd pay to see you wear a tailored suit, man." Jeremiah chimed in.

"Okay, shut up. When are you leaving for training camp, man?" Steven asked Conrad, changing the subject, making the room go completely silent.

"Conrad quit football." Jeremiah answered for him.

"You quit?" Matilda asked and he nodded his head. It was the first thing she said to him all night and he couldn't even reply with words which put a frown on her face.

"Are you kidding me, man? I'd kill to play college ball."

"He can always change his mind." Susannah added in.

"I'm not gonna change my mind." Conrad argued. "I was just gonna sit on the bench all season anyways."

"Well, if you're not playing football anymore, what are you gonna do all summer?" Laurel questioned as the boy shrugged.

"Oh, dude, you can work at the club with me and Jere."

"I'm not gonna work at the club." he shot down.
