Beau Monet.

The youngest of the Monet family was a genius.

Was he particularly smart? No, just average.

Did he have unimaginable strength? Not really.

Unparalleled magic powers? Not that too.

But he was focused. He knew how to efficiently, effectively and successfully complete whatever task he was given.

That's how it was but today that's going to change. I will use my most amazing skills to run away.

It's been exactly seven days since I came back to the past, I died few days before my 18th birthday, I will have my 14th birthday next month.

'What a mess'

I sighed while looking at the mirror and fumbling with my bag.

A tall, slim silhouette with shiny blonde hair and blue eyes. It's not too different from when I was 17, I just look smaller. I rubbed my eyes and walked to the bed.

There was a note on the bed, because I didn't want my mother to worry too much. My sister knows I'm planning to run away, but she doesn't know when I'll be coming back.

My plan is to come back after my family appoints my eldest brother as the heir for the county. It will take half a year if they take their time. Honestly, this could've been solved faster if Father had just agreed to remove him as the potential Successor candidate but it's his past self that insisted on being Count to the point that even the side branches treat him as the future Count.

What was I even thinking at the time.

I double check my supplies and fix my dark brown hood while peeking out the window.

My room is in the left corner of the castle so I have a direct view of the wall but the walls are too high for me to jump even with magic so I can only walk close to the wall and move to the back gate to get out.

The window opened with a light creak and I stepped out while noiselessly casting hover magic. There is a small path just near the castle surrounded by flower bushes. The knights patrol the area in pairs and they move from the back gate every 15 minutes.

As if on cue, the knights at the gate look at eachother and walk away.

The next pair of knights will be here in less than 5 minutes so I need to get out the gate before that. Its called the back gate but really it's not the main gate but just a small sized gate which the staff use to run errands.

The magic lightens my body so I sprint close to the walls while holding my breath.

There is an artifact on the gate that monitors and alerts any unidentified magic signatures, but it doesn't have any effect on me as my magic is already recognised by all artifacts in the castle. Simply, even if my magic is noticed it wouldn't put out an alert as I'm not considered as an intruder.

I slipped pass the gate and sprint out into path leading to the woods.

'Success!'

No time to cheer, I have to keep running.

What I didn't notice was a man with a calm disposition and dark purple hair looking at me from my own room window.

For now, I almost successfully escaped from home.
