Aro. Not a typical English name, he wasn't from around here. Perhaps he really was the angel I had prayed for every night of my eighteen years. I tried to stand, to at least make myself seem confident and strong in front of this being, but something inside me told me to stay on the ground. This man, angel, demon, whatever he may be, he ignited a fear in me.

" You know, when someone has just introduced themselves to you, it is quite impolite not to return the gesture. "

My lips parted to speak but not even air could escape. My body began to tremble, and my heart picked up pace. Something was wrong, this wasn't an angel. This was a man, a real man. Then why did he look like that? Why was he so...beautiful?

"Well if you are not going to answer me than I will have to find out myself."

The man-angel came toward me and my body reactss for the first time. I jerked back hard, losing balance I felt myself falling toward the water.

The man-angels long, pale hand reached out to grab my golden, brown arm. He caught me just in time, the very tips of my hair brushing the top of the water. I felt something, a spark, a flow of my soul surging into his hand.

"Luna."

The sound of my name coming out of his mouth like bells, a sweet melodious sound; it filled my heart with so much emotion. Tears formed in my eyes and just as I was regaining balance, I dropped to my knees.

"Luna. Sweet, little Luna with the dark tortured soul. Unloved, unappreciated Luna. I know who you are, my dear and I've come to save you. I'm going to give you want you have always wanted: death"

How did he know? How did I know that he knew every little detail of my life. My dreams, my hopes, my hatred...how?

I began to cry, not a heavy sob but a soft quiet relief. My body stopped shaking and I looked up at this man-angel. He was here to save me after all. It was my time, I would be free. Somehow I knew what he was, something in my heart knew the true nature of this man. I brushed my hair back and exposed my neck.

"Do it. Please. Kill me. Save me."

Aro knelt down to stare me in the eye. He caressed my face with one cold hand and smiled. In his black eyes I could see death, the lost souls of all his past victims.

" I said I would give you death, not that I would kill you. You have been through far too much to be given the curse of damnation"
