chapter 4- birthday

Skylar p.o.v.

I groaned when I heard my mom shout something along the words off happy birthday. All of a sudden I shot up out off bed realising she is shouting it to me. I almost jumped out my skin when I realised everyone was in my room.

Everyone laughed at seeing me jump.

"Happy birthday little sis" I heard my twin brothers xavier and xander say at the same time making me smile.

"Thank you." I said softly kissing there cheek.

"Happy birthday skylar" precious said excitedly. I smiled and hugged her tightly.

"Thank youuuu" I said happily.

"Happy birthday my beautiful little girl." My mom said with tears in her eyes.

"Mommmm I'm not little anymore I'm now officially 18" I said with a little giggle making her smile.

She laughed with me and I turned around to my dad who already had tears in his eyes.

"Happy birthday my princess." He said softly kissing my cheek.

"Thank you dad." I said softly.

"Alright well it's getting very soppy in here." Xavier said making us all laugh.

I heard xander scoff.

"Why did you not get this upset when we turned 18" xander said mocking hurt.

"Your mom did." Dad said with a chuckle.

"I know she did but mom always does. You never did." Xander said with a chuckle.

"Awe does baby xander want attention off his daddy." I said laughing.

"Shut up skylar." He said glaring playfully at me.

We all laughed and headed downstairs.

"So what's the plan." Xavier asked.

"Well soon we will be getting ready for the party. The girls will get ready together and the guys will get ready together. " my mom said sternly knowing they will try take a peak.

They held there hands up in surrender making myself, precious and my mom giggle.

After we ate I got a shower and got did everything I needed to do.

I was still in my towel when my mom and precious came into my room.

"So how you wanting to look?" Precious asked.

"As natural as possible. If I find my mate I want him to see me not a plastic doll." I said sternly making them nod.

We sat down and my mom started doing my make up as precious did my hair.

"So anyone on mind your hoping it to be.?" My mom asked.

I put my head down a little making my mom lift my chin up.

"Hey it's okay sweetie. You know I was really scared about meeting my mate too. My circumstances were different to yours but I know you want him to be your mate. If he isn't then it just was not meant to be and if he is then great. If not he will still be your friend." My mom said softly.

I know about my moms past and I can not believe how strong my mom is. I'm so proud of her.

"Yo-you know who I like?" I asked suprised.

My mom chuckled.

"Myself and isabella have known for a while now. You both thought you could do well at hiding it but your both very bad liars." She said with a chuckle.

"Both? What do you mean?" I asked confused.

My mom sighed softly.

"You both like eachother but are both to slow to realise eachother liks one another. But please don't get your Hope's up love. Also don't worry your twin brothers are slow at realising as well seeming as none off them have clicked on." My mom said with a chuckle.

"Actually I think Xander has a feeling as I have caught him glaring at jacob a few times when he stares at you." Precious said with a laugh.

We all laughed at that and carried on getting ready while talking about anything and everything.

Is what they are saying true? Does Jacob really like me? Could he be my mate? I just dont want to get my Hope's up. Not only that but there is another pack coming which is my brother Keaton's pack. My mate could also be there.

I have liked jacob for as long as I can remember. In all honesty I don't think I have ever looked at another male in that sort of way apart from jacob.

I sighed but joined in the conversation with my mom and precious deciding it's best to ignore my thoughts about jacob and take the day as it goes.

After what felt like forever we were finally ready. They both did an amazing job with me. I have a little bit off makeup but not enough to make me look like a barbie doll and I love it.

"Ready?" My mom asked.

I looked myself one last time in the mirror before taking a shaky breath in nervousness and nodding my head yes.

"I'm ready." I said softly.

With that being said we walked downstairs where my brothers and my father is. As we got down they told me how beautiful I looked and then we all headed to the car ready for my party. My hands started to shake a little with nervousness.

I could find my mate and I'm scared it's not the mate I want.
