Chapter 5: Ghostli Business

At the very same time, Leo's friends were all stuck in the back seat of Mason's dad's car, and checked that their Soul Gem rings to see if there were no cracks in them. "Are you guys ok?" Replied Mason as he got up and adjusted his seatbelt. "Look. You kids stay in the car- we're gonna go and assess the situation." Fergus Bennett, Mason's dad said as he got out of the car with his wife, Beatrice. "No! No! Don't go! You'll get killed!" The kids inside the car screamed in horror.

"What? What is it?" Said Beatrice as she hurriedly approached the entrance, unaware of the Negati behind her. "Behind you! Behind you!" The kids said. But Fergus and Beatrice noticed this too late- the massive Endlessli was towering over them, and this caused the two to run straight into the fog. The Endlessli chuckled with glee as it watched the two victims it scared get rushed away into the fog.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god; I think I'm hallucinating!" Mason screamed as he clutched himself. "Look. Look. We should try to stay calm, ok? We'll be ok as long as we stay calm!" Jasmine said as she brushed back her hair. But just as she finished her sentence, a Ghostli floated up to the car the kids were in, and bit down on the hood of the car with a loud CHOMP. "AAAHHH!!" The startled kids responded. "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!!" Liam Boris, another kid screamed as he tried as hard as he could to get the car door open. "We're too young to die!!" Screamed Payton Jeremiah as he attempted to break open a car window.

But The Ghostli wouldn't listen- it kept eating at the car; eventually devouring a good chunk of the front. "Guys. We need to get outta here!!" Serena Robinson exclaimed as she held out her Soul Gem, its pink sheen glowing in the car. "And we may or may not have to transform." Alex Finch replied as he got out his mahogany colored gem, followed Bowie taking out his green Soul Gem. "The former is more likely!" Bowie said. A flash of light filled the car; and the kids narrowly escaped in Magical Warrior form just as the Ghostli consumed the vehicle in full.

"That. Was. Close." Jasmine replied as she lowered her chakrams to her side. "Yeah, but I think we also ran into the fog of all things!" Mason replied, his boombox shining a light in what looked to be an endless ocean of thick purple fog. "Look! There's a light!" Said Payton, pointing towards to what appeared to be a glittering light. "Payton, don't get your hopes up! Maybe it might be a trap or something like that!" Serena replied as she moved back her braids. As the kids hurried closer, it looked like a cafe. The smell of coffee and chocolate wafted through the air; and the kids hurried inside to get some much needed refreshments.

"I'll gladly take at least one hot chocolate." Liam said; putting his throwing knives back in their case. But just as the kids sat down to drink some warm hot chocolate; the ground shook, and it was revealed that the cafe wasn't a cafe at all, but a shed in the middle of a backyard. "Looks like you fell for my trap- I hope that you didn't even get in a frappe!" Lance replied as he walked out of the shadows, looking at the kids, who were tied up. "You scary squid man!" Bowie said. "Let us go!" Alex replied. "Good luck trying to escape- I hope you don't become insane like an ape!" Lance said with an evil laugh, disappearing into the shadows again.

As the kids sat there, muffled by Lance's roots, they began to worry if their families were worried about them. Suddenly, the slashing of a sword could be heard, and Leo and the other Wonder Warriors had arrived just in time. "Jazz! Mason! Are you guys ok?!" Leo said, the others cutting away the Nega Roots that surrounded the other kids. "Yeah... we got ambushed by a crazy squid man, and a Witch's labyrinth is nearby." Mason said as he finally wriggled free of the tight roots, picking up his boombox. "Thanks for saving us. How'd you know where to find us?" Jasmine asked as she used her Chakrams to free the rest.

"I sensed your aura nearby- and knew that a Ghostli was on the loose!" Cal said as he put Kuro on the ground; with the small squirrel Negati drawing out exactly what had happened. "So that thing was trying to get us killed!" Payton replied, twirling around his marching baton before striking another branch with it. "So maybe we can take care of some of the minor witches, while you guys go get to the source?" Serena replied as she cleaned out her Pom-Poms. "Sure. That sounds like a good deal." Cass replied as she shook hands with Serena.

"Well, it looks like it's time for us to head to that labyrinth." Liam said as he readied his throwing knives as the gang and the kids exited the shed. "Ok! Wish us luck!" Alex called out to the gang as he took out his spiked baseball bat and made his way to fight a witch with his team. "Thanks for everything!" Bowie replied as he used his Volleyball to clear a brick wall before heading off. At the same time; the Ghostli that Devoured the car moments earlier had retuned; and Lance wasn't exactly happy...
