This is if Emma had a normal childhood, so some background these are foster parents because her actual parents didn't want her. And this is a road trip. And she's 12 in this. And she has loving parents.

"Emma sweetie wake up." The voice interrupted Emma's dream.
"Mama it's 2 in the morning.." Emma whispered, she was tired but awake enough to know the time.
"I know, but today is the day." Her mom said, Emma sat straight up and remembered today was the day. Her mom gave a smile and turned on her fan.
"I get to see Ray!" Emma exclaimed as she got out of bed. "Where is it?" Emma asked as she went through her closet trying to find this thing.
"Where's what?" "My present for Ray!" "It's already in the car Emma." "Oh, so I just need to grab my toiletries and blanket?" "Yes." Emma could not stand or sit still. She ran to the bathroom and brushed her teeth. "Someones excited." Her dad laughed. "Duh! It's one of my best friends that I haven't seen in so long!" Emma explained and it sounded like a blob of sounds.
She spit out her toothpaste then put her toothbrush in a zip log bag. She combed her hair, and she made her little ahoge stand straight up.
"Where do you want to eat Emma?" "Uhm.. dine in or drive through?" "Drive through." "Dunkin Donuts?" "Sure."
Emma returned to her stuff. She put on deodorant, flossed her teeth, washed her face. All that stuff you do.
"Oh crap! I have to email my teachers that I won't be in school today." "Already have that covered. Everything is going to be fine." "I know! It's just I'm overreacting- like Ray likes to be smart and not be wrong." "If that's the case, you might wanna change your clothes."
Emma ran back to her room to change. She didn't own that much girly stuff, and mainly got made fun of for it. But the most girly stuff she had was Jean shorts, and crop hoodies. But with crop hoodies she wore a shirt or a turtle neck under it.
