Joey's POV

The call ends and I'm stood there having no clue what to do. I just asked her to have breakfast, nothing more, nothing less. Why am I so nervous, I just want to become friends, that's all, right? I put my phone down and grab my vlogging camera. I hit record and fall back onto the bed, "I'm back from my panel and it was so fun answering all your guy's questions! I also got to see some of my other youtube friends and I had such a great time. I'll see you tomorrow with another vlog and may the odds be ever in your favor, good damn bye!" I wave to camera and finish it up. I then get ready for bed and set an alarm for 9:30am. Right when my head hits the pillow, I fall instantly to sleep.

Charlotte's POV

I hold a top up to my chest and say, "What about this one?"

"Nah, too flashy."

"Ugh, fine." I put the shirt down and pick another one up and repeat, "This one?"

"No, no, no! Lemme do it, I know what I'm doing, trust me, I've been on way more dates than you."

"Mel, this isn't a date, he never said that."

"Just because he didn't say it, doesn't mean it isn't one."

I groan as Mel picks the 'perfect' top. I didn't realize I brought so many clothes. She eyes over each and every one and finally decides on a flowy, striped t-shirt. She adds some jeans to match and a pair of keds, "Here, take this beanie, you'll look cute." She throws me a a grey, faded hat.

"Won't it mess up my braid," I mock.

"The messy look will suit you, and, you don't want to look too good, it's the morning, you gotta seem casual and like you don't care."

"Whatever you say, you seem to know what you are doing."

I lay the outfit on a chair in the corner all ready for tomorrow. I picture myself in it, and thinking of how Joey might consider it decent. I shrug to myself and go to set the alarm for 8:30am, to take a shower, do makeup and hair, get dressed and practice what I'm going to say. I sigh and go to sleep, with some doubt and some confidence.

********

My world is sideways as my eyes let light seep in. I get up and notice how I'm in a large group of people. I'm sitting on what seems to be a white, suede couch. Music is blasting and the smell of alcohol fills the giant room. I look around in confusion as I get up and try to figure out where I am. I push past dancing and drunk people to find someone I know. I come across Mel sitting at a bar, looking tipsy. "Mel!" I shout over the music. She doesn't seem to notice me, so I try to get closer. Just as I'm about a couple feet away, she turns away from me and calls out to someone, "Hey babe, I was wondering where you were." She trips over her own feet as she gets up to the mysterious someone. She puts her hands around the person's neck and leans in. They start kissing messily and I try to see who this person is. I nudge my way through a couple of more people and see a tall guy with really good light brown hair. She pulls back and smiles. I can now see the man since Mel's face isn't in it. It's Joey. I can feel my face give off an unpleasant look as I realize that he's with Mel. Am I feeling, jealous? No, I can't, they're drunk. I reach her and tap on her shoulder, "Uhh, what are you doing?" I ask with annoyance in my voice.

"Having the b-best night of my li-" Mel nearly collapses onto me, but I catch her and set her up in a bar stool.

"Mel, what the hell have you been up to?" I question as Joey gets in between us.

"What do you think you're d-doing," Joey hiccups. I stiffen up at the sight of him and try to make out a clear statement without my voice getting shaky, "Uhhh, wondering what the heck you're doing with my best friend?!" He starts laughing at me and then gives me a stern look, "What? Are you jealoouuss?" He slurs, "I bet you are... You're just mad that I'm doing this to Mel and not to you. You wanna know why? It's because you are a nobody. Someone who doesn't take risks, a goody-two shoes. I can see that you are completely sober and not even up to taking at least one shot. No, no,no, no, it's because you're not fun or adventurous like little miss Mel over here who seems up to anything. Now go home and feel upset over yourself all aloooone." He spits out at me. I have no words, I'm just shocked. The person I saw in the videos and at the hotel was not like this at all. I didn't know he had that in him. My eyes fill up with tears, but I wipe them away before they fall. I was about to say something, but Mel just laughs at what Joey said.

"He's soooo right! You do absolutely nothing crazy or exciting." Mel says as she takes a sip of a margarita. I feel like I'm going to fall into pieces over what they said. I've never felt so bad about myself before. I try to collect myself back up, but it fails. I spin around and run for the front door. I have no idea where I am, but anywhere besides here is perfect.

"Charlie...Charlie-Charlie!!"

I bolt straight up and notice that it's still dark outside.

"Wh-what?"

"You were crying about something in your sleep."

"Oh, I was? Thanks for waking me, though." I quickly say trying not to be bothered by the dream that I just had.

"It must have been pretty bad, this has never happened to you before. I would know cause we live in the same place."

"Yeah, I'll just go back to sleep now." I face away from her and worry fills my head. Was that dream trying to tell me something, no that's not possible. What if Mel or Joey actually thinks that about me? Pshh, I can be fun... when I want to. I try to clear those thought out of my head as I force myself to sleep. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts. Just as I settle back into a deep rest, the ringing of my phone disrupts me. I crack my eyes open and see that it's my mom. I slowly slide my finger across the screen and hold it up to my ear, "Hello?" I groggily answer.

"Hey, sweetie! Are you okay? You can live right? Are you-"

I cut my mom off and reply, "Mom, you know it's 6am here right? And I'm fine, don't worry, everything is all right"

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I forgot, I was just so worried and your friend, Mel, was supposed to catch me up on how you were doing. I'll let you go so you can sleep again. I love you! Call me tomorrow, got it?" She raises her voice at the end.

"Sure thing, and love you too, Mom." I hang up and drop my phone next to my pillow. The short talk instantly made me tired again, which was a plus. Now, all I have to do is get through 2 more hours of sleeping! Yay!
