Charlotte's POV

"What? Are you happy to see me?" He says to me. His voice makes me feel safe and I barely know him! But, I can't help how I feel, now that I know. I'm too scared to say anything since my voice will probably crack. He takes a seat across from me. I turn off my phone and set it on the table. "Hey, Joey how are you?"

"I'm doing well and sorry for being a little late, my video had a problem processing."

"Don't worry, and if it was anybody, I was a little early."

A waitress, about my age, comes up to our table and says, "What would this lovely couple like for breakfast?" She smiles and waits for an answer. She seems perky.

I cut in and add, "Um, we aren't together and I would like some scrambled eggs with cheese and water please." I hand the menu to her. While I was waiting I looked at the menu real quick, so I already knew what I was getting.

"Oh, so sorry, my mistake. What would this handsome gentleman want to eat?" she winks at him. Apparently, she was glad to hear we weren't dating. I slide it off seeming like I didn't notice. I can't be jealous because, like I said, we weren't a thing.

"Can I have some eggs, sunny side up, and two slices of turkey bacon."

"Alright, I'll be right out with your order."

"Well, that was weird," Joey chuckles.

"Yeah..." I trail off.

"I have a little complaint about your order." Joeys tells me. Oh no, did I order something to fatty? "You added cheese with your eggs! Cheese is the devil!" He says in a weird voice.

"Well, sorry that I didn't know that a dairy product was satan." I answered back defensively.

"Well, now you know and it's for the better!"

"I'll keep that in mind for next time," I look down and mumble, "yeah right-"

"What was that?" He gives me a funny look.

"Oh, nothing." I laugh.

There is an awkward silence between us, but some yelling breaks it. I look off to the side and notice a man at the counter slamming his fists down onto it. It looks like he has an empty tall glass next to him. Isn't too early to drink? But, you know what they say, it's 5 o'clock somewhere. "I want my waffles!" He shouts. I cover up my mouth as I'm about to laugh hysterically. A muffled noise goes into my hand and I think he heard. He looks at me and squints, giving me an angry look. I turn back at Joey and it looks like he's about to laugh, too. The lady behind the counter tries to calm him down, but he won't. He picks up his glass and throws it at the ground. It shatters and wakes everyone up who wasn't quite yet.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of bed, today." I whisper.

"You got that right." Joeys says.

The waitress comes through swinging back doors and approaches us with plates balanced on her arm. "Here ya go, a sunny side up with turkey bacon and a scrambled eggs with cheese with a water." She sets everything on the table. "Thanks." I say.

"No problem." She walks away.

"Ugh! I don't want to even look at it!" He points at my food. I roll my eyes and start eating the 'devil'. "It's so bad for you!"

"But's it sooo good, you can't stop me on that one."

"Sure, all that matters is that I'm the one who isn't eating the cheese." I hear a buzz and a text shows up on the screen of my phone. It's Mel and it says, 'Sooooooo, how is it? Txt me!' I ignore it since I don't want to be rude. Another one pops up and another and another, jeez Mel.
