The Sun was just setting over the horizon and the alchemist of Mondstadt was busy at work, gathering papers and setting them aside in a suitcase since he had just received a notice from his pen pal: Zhenyu about making a new book, since "A Legend of Sword" really rose in popularity and there was a high demand for more books written by the two, but first the boy had to request for leave from The Acting Grand Master Jean, because if he left without warning there would certainly be worry.

Albedo made his way over to the office of the Grand master and proceed to gently wrap on the door with his knuckles.

Knock!, knock!

he was met with silence.

The blonde-ash haired boy knocked again but before he could raise his hand, a voice called from inside.

"Come on in darling~"

Without hesitation, he turned the door knob gently and walked in to be met with Lisa and Jean who were both peacefully chatting over a cup of tea but stopped to turn their gaze at Albedo who had just walked in.

"Good Afternoon Albedo, what is it that you're here for?" Jean greeted with a smile, sipping from her ceramic cup.

"Ah yes Jean I'm actually here to request leave for a couple of days." he gestured his hands in a warm manner.

"Oh really? May I ask what for?" she placed her drink down and listened in.

"I'm on important business and need to travel to Liyue for some days, is that alright with you?" Albedo gazed into her eyes and a mutual agreement was made.

"You have three days, I hope that's enough." Jean went back to talking to Lisa and Albedo mouthed a 'Thank you' before leaving Jean's Office to depart to Liyue.

By the time he made it out of Mondstadt, it was beginning to rain heavily and get dark so he rushed and took a shortcut to the nearby Inn, this would give him Shelter until tomorrow which would leave him 2 days, which would surely be enough?

Talking to the receptionist, he managed to reserve a room for rest which was quite comfortable actually, despite never having had to stop at the Inn before, this may have been his best choice yet. He decided that instead of sleeping he might as well use the scenery around Wangshuu Inn to his advantage so he picked up his clipboard and pencil and headed downstairs. Informing the receptionist he was headed out, but would be back soon he stepped outside into the cool night air.

Little did he know that the place wasn't very safe at night and that he'd be met with consequences.

Albedo arrived at Dihua Marsh, it was quiet and tranquil, perfect for relaxing and letting his mind at ease and there he whipped out his equipment and got to drawing, the occasional movement of bushes was heard but by now that was normal to Albedo, the wind would be quite soft anyway so it shouldn't prove to be too much of a disturbance.

But... there it was again? Except much more louder, it didn't sound like the wind anymore. Albedo rose from the ground and looked reluctantly around him, he hadn't brought his sword with him since he assumed that it would be safe, he was just overreacting right..? right?

After scanning the area, the movement stopped and he sat back down before releasing a sigh, he wasn't this paranoid before, perhaps it's because he's in Liyue.

Suddenly, a familar ''YAA!'' was heard from behind him and just before he could prepare himself a Hilichurl plunged on him, restraining him from getting up.

With much struggle, Albedo managed to shove the Hilichurl off with his clipboard, the Hilichurl made so much noise that his friends came along, one of them being a huge Mitachurl.

Albedo let out a sigh before scribbling something on his clipboard and just as he was about to use his alchemy to bring his drawing to life, the Mitachurl swung its axe just scraping the side of his face, many attempts were made to make some sort of weapon but with every try Albedo failed and he was covered head to toe in cuts and bruises.

Just as he was about to bring one of his artworks to life, he felt his eyes get heavy along with his body and he fell to the floor, these hilichurls were strong, much stronger than the ones in Mondstadt, he knew at this point he'd be no match for them so he finally succumbed to them.

As his eyes were finally giving up, he saw a bright blue light emerge in front of him and that was the last thing he saw before falling unconscious.

With the slight opening of one eye, Albedo felt himself being..carried? He tried to get a good look at the persons face but his vision was too blurry to actually identify who it was, whoever this person was, he needed to thank them for their kindness.

.

.

"Hey, are you sure he's not dead?" a lady's voice could be heard from just above.

A grunt responded "Yes, I'm sure."

the voices were flooded out with darkness.

As Albedo finally gained conscious, he tried sitting up but was pushed down by a hand, why was he being pushed around all of a sudden? Did he really even escape those Hilichurls.

"Hold still." The voice muffled.

It was a boy, tying bandages around the other boy's injuries, just then Albedo winced from the incoming pain and went to get up again.

"I said hold still." The voice got more annoyed before keeping his hand on the Alchemists chest.

To distract himself, Albedo took in his saviours appearance, a short boy with dark medium-length hair with teal undertones, golden irises and an intimidating aura, maybe he really shouldn't get on this guys bad side.

"There." he released his hand before getting up and heading for the door.

"Wait." Albedo raised his voice slightly "Can I get your name please..?"

The boy groaned before responding "Xiao. Adeptus Xiao." And just as quickly as he came, he disappeared only leaving bright blue particles as a trace.

"Weird." Albedo muttered before raising a hand to his chin, ''who was that just now and why did they give off a strange feeling...he doesn't give off the presence of a human, Hm, I must find out more about him.''

The night was calling and so did Albedo's yearn for sleep, so as his body demanded, he finally rested and gave in to sweet dreams.
