Chapter 26

Your POV

I look away from the road for a second and bring Dinah's hand to my face to give it a gentle kiss. As I turn back to the road, I gasp... a car is in our lane, heading straight for us going insanly fast. I look towards Dinah and see her screaming and I yell "Dinahhhhh". Then i feel it. The impact, metal crushing metal. We jolt around and I close my eyes moving over to Dinah seat diving onto her. I hear metal crushing, Dinah screaming and cars stopping. Once the movement has stopped I can't open my eyes. I feel disoriented. I look to my right and see Dinah slumped over the dashboard. She wasnt wearing a seatbelt and yet neither was I. I could feel the pain rush to my back as I try to keep my eyes open. I reach for her hand but it limply falls as I try to move it. I hear the sirens go off and a horn of a firetruck before I black out.

Dinah POV

I could hear the obnoxious ticking of the clock, and the intimidating machinery surrounding me. The plain white walls seemed to close in on me. These walls told stories of broken hearts and wished upon dreams that were never to be seen again. I open my eyes slightly to see the girls all surrounding my bed making small talk. As my eyes began to focus clearer forward the bright lights of what seemed to be a hospital I notice that the one person who is not here is Y/N. As I looked to my right, I saw doctors pacing back and forth. I cough and they all jump rushing to my side.

"Hello Dinah, can you hear me." one doctor says shining a light into my eye

"Y-e-a-h." I manage to croak out as all my family and friends sigh in relief

"Okay, do you know your name?"

"Dinah Jane Hansen"

"Can you name these girls for me?" She points to the girls at the door

"That's Allycat, Mani, Lo, Camz, and...and" My voice trails off

"And who?" The doctor wonders

"Where is she?" I begin to panic

I try to sit up in the bed but a pain shoots up my right side at my ribs.

"Who are you looking for?"

"Y/N" I state and all the girls lower there heads

"I will leave you guys alone." The doctor says and leaves the room with my family leaving me and the girls there alone. "Guys, where is she." I say panicked and a small tear sheds from face.

Camz sits on my bed grabbing my hand and looks straight at me.

"Dinah, you need to be brave okay, I'm your best friend and I know that this my be hard to hear but I'm going to say it anyway. While you and Y/N were coming back from you date a drunk driver came into your lane and hit your car." She says and I begin to sob "Want me to keep going." I nod "Okay well as the collision was about to happen Y/N jumped onto your side of the car covering you. She went into the windshield and took the hit from the car that was heading in your direction. Dinah... she saved your life."

I look up from my hands and lean into her shoulder and begin to sob unconditionally. All the girls jump into the bed hugging me from all directions being careful of the wires that I am connected to and the massive bruise on my ribs.

"Camz where is she?"

"Dinah, Y/N is in a coma." And in that one word my life came crashing down onto of me

"H-h-h-o-o-o-w long?"

"Well you woke up today and the collision happened three days ago."
