I squinted due to the light that shone through the window. Standing up and covering my eyes I tripped over something. I groaned in frustration.

"I thought I was clumsy," Jasper's voice reached my ears and he helped me stand up. My eyes adjusted to the light. We were still at the house. The air was cold and heavy. The ripped curtains couldn't keep the light out.

"Where's Joe and Katie?" I questioned looking around. They were nowhere to be seen. I couldn't hear Katie's stupid high-pitched voice. That made me feel good.

I never gave Katie a nickname. Honestly, no one did. I would call her Kate or Kat. I like the sound of both. Kat would suit her more though. Her eyes are narrow and long. Plump and naturally pink lips. She's beautiful.

"They're probably hooking up in a ditch" Jazz scoffed and walked over to the pentagram.

"Weird isn't it?" he asked hovering over it. It was weird but it didn't concern me.  Whatever happened here didn't reach the news. But I couldn't ignore the curiosity of wanting to find out everything about this house and who lived there. Most of all, what the fuck happened.

"Come on, we need to find those two love birds and get going," I spoke and picked up the bag I tripped over. Jasper followed me out of the house. I looked around as the wind messed with my hair making me groan. Jazz chuckled at me struggling to fix it. I glared at him shutting him up.

"Joey!" me and Jasper yelled looking around for our friend. No answer. I find my phone and notice a message from Joey. Jasper lights up a cigarette.

"Me and Katie went home. Have fun ;)"

I scoffed at the message rolling my eyes. Joey always insisted me and Jazz to hook up. Wish I had a fucking clue why.

"They went home," I say and Jasper nods rolling his brown eyes. He hands me his cigarette and I inhale the smoke before returning it. His eyes never leave mine as I exhale.

"We should get going too," I say and motion with my head for us to start walking.

"I've heard of this house before," he says suddenly. My head turns to him ready to hear a horror story.

"My uncle told me about it. There was a family that messed around with some witchy shit. The dad went crazy and killed his wife leaving the daughters alive," he shrugged inhaling the smoke.

He said it so casually. It didn't bother him. Some part of me felt bad. For the daughters mostly.

"No clue if it's true or a myth," he adds.

"Wouldn't be surprised if it were true," I say as I try to imagine a man killing his wife while his daughters watch. Shivers run down my body.

"Was the wife a sacrifice?" I ask after a thought occurs in my head.

Jasper furrows his eyebrows confused.
"What do you mean?" he asks and I make my way back to the house. The pentagram. Jazz follows me with no questions asked and I point at it.

"The pentagram. The blood. I think that's where he killed her," I say curiously. Was this some sort of ritual?

"Come on, Alice. It's probably a myth anyway. Teenagers like us could've drawn this," he says grabbing my wrist as I stood there deep in thought.

"I'll ask my uncle to pick us up," Jasper walked outside to make a phone call as I stared at the symbol on the floor. I took a picture to figure everything out later. I might not get some sleep tonight but maybe I'll find out the truth.

What happened to the daughters? Their dad?
