Chapter 10: Closing off

She had felt it too. The uneasiness, the feeling of losing it all. But what could she possibly do? What could she, a side character possibly do?

Hence, she had no choice but to avoid it. In those few days that were left before Aida and Liza started living together, she had distanced herself.

"I'll do everything in my power to avoid it, that is what I am best at after all," Liza repeats her goal once again just as soon as she wakes up. Now it has become a ritual to her. Just as soon as her heart opened for Aida, she was able to close it off too.

She got out took a shower and just followed her daily routines. She tried her best to not let her thoughts go astray and just focused on how to spend her day productively, which was for her, sleeping or basically lazing around.

Since the day Liza had shared her thoughts with Kyun, they had gotten a little closer. He always waited for her and he didn't annoy her much when she slept, and he was generous enough to let her use his space whenever she wanted.

However, Kyun was feeling that he had done something wrong. Since the day he had talked to Liza, he had noticed that Aida might've just had feelings for her too or he might just be developing them at a rapid rate.

He always walked two steps behind her irrespective of how slow she had already walked, he liked watching her but she was keeping a distance from him so he just had to obey those unclaimed words.

Kyun had seen a little sadness in Aida's eyes. A little irritation too when he saw her with him. There was just one day left now and Liza was still not so sure what she could possibly attain in one day.

"What do I do!?!" Liza speaks worried biting her fingernails. "Hey! Stop," Kyun calms her down first before continuing, "Umm, How about you...date someone?"

"We...are already dating," Liza sighs as she rests her head back. "But against your will," Kyun clears the misunderstanding giving liza some hope.

"There are many who like you, go check your locker, there might be a dozen love letters waiting for you, and what you have to do is just choose one of them," He explains to her as he nods and pats himself for giving such a wonderful idea.

"Can...I?" Liza asks with her own doubts.

"You can!" Kyun encourages Liza. 

Liza stares into blank space for a while. "What? Aren't you going?" Kyun asks Liza rushing her. "Shut up! Let me sleep, I'll go after that," Liza hisses at Kyun.

The person who'll be the best for the job? Liza ponders upon the thought for a while and then changes the topic as she thinks if Kyun's advice is even worth considering. What if something goes wrong?

Liza's thought: Fuck it all! I don't care.

Aida was also very unsure about his feelings and his advice. He'd been feeling like this for a while and wondered if anything went wrong, he'd be the one to be blamed. And he wasn't quite favorable to be on Aida's radar.

Just like that, both of the lost souls fall asleep next to each other.

Aida was worried. Like seriously. He kept pacing back and forth in front of the stairs that led to the place where he knew Liza probably would be. But he couldn't make out the courage to claim those few stairs and reach her.

There wasn't even an excuse to give her if she asks him why he is looking for her. 

Aida's thoughts: Excuse...Ah!  I got one.

Aida fills the air in his mouth and releases it from the air making a self-proud claim. He then starts walking up the stairs with a wavering heart. 

Just as Liza was in sight of him, he saw Kyun sleeping across her, which somehow managed to be his first priority. His left eye twitched and he clenched and unclenched his hands continuously.

Then he walked his way to them tip-toed, in order to not create any disturbing sounds. Kyun and Liza were both leaning their head back against the wall and were sleeping in a sitting position. 

First Aida approached Liza and placed his hands gently behind her head, supporting the side with the other hand. He slowly let her head down on the soft and fluffy pillow.

Then he took a deep breath of relief. His warm eyes shifted from her to Kyun with also a change in his eyes, the cold ones. He then slowly slapped Kyun, making him cry in sleep. Kyun's body fell sideways.

Aida looked at his hands who had managed to slap this irritating guy in front of him.

Aida's Thought: I may be an expert.

Reality: Kyun is a deep sleeper.

Liza rubbed her eyes and yawned. Then looking at her watch, she got up to do what she had to. She already had the plan in her mind, a good one at that. But of course, she was nervous.

Kyun's advice was, uh, not helpful. But it did remind Liza of something more useful and worth trying. She made her way down the stairs and then the corridor.

She then approached the class next to her. Aida saw her passing and quietly approached her. 

Liza leaned against the wall to hide her body enough, with only enough to let her sight in. She started scanning the classroom filled with students. Her eyes shrank as a result of the concentration, she didn't even realize that somebody was behind her.

Liza's thoughts: Ah...Not him. Not him. Not him...There he is!

Liza started smirking. 

Liza's thoughts: That must be him. He meets the description. But he's good-looking in reality, far exceeding my expectations. Kim So-Hyun, just wait.

Liza backed a little, with the corner of her lips turned up. Aida's eyes were also fixed in the classroom. 

Aida's thoughts: Who is she looking at?

Liza turned around startling herself and the boy. "Uwah!" Screamed Aida. "Kya!" Screamed Liza. Both of their checks got red and they both knew themselves they were more flustered by the contact than the surprise.

The visual couple grabbed the attention of the students. And even the so-called boy named Kim So-Hyun.

Kim So-Hyun's thoughts: Cute.
