(Lunchtime)

It was lunchtime for the dogs. Whisper and Meeka ate together. Meeka had this weird feeling that Darling and her gang of bitches were planning something.

She couldn't be sure if it was true or not, but she would have to keep her eyes on them. Whisper saw Meeka's sister eating with Balto. After witnessing how she treated Meeka, she didn't like her. _____________________________________________________When they finished with lunch, the two dogs walk to the front of the school where the stairs. "Meeka, something on your mind?" Whisper asked. Meeka shook her head.

"I don't know. I guess I didn't much sleep last night," Meeka answered. "I told you that you need to stay at my house. That way you can get sleep," Whisper said with a smile.

"I know, but you know how my parents are," Meeka said, looking down. "Yeah, I know. My dad wouldn't mind you coming over," Whisper said, knowing that her father wasn't anything like Meeka's father, who was a tyrant.

Whisper saw how Meeka's mother treated her and they had something in common because of that. Whisper put a paw over Meeka's as a gesture to comfort her. However, they didn't realize that somebody had seen Whisper do this.

(After School)

When school was over, Whisper and Meeka met outside. "I'll see you tomorrow, Meks," Whisper said, "If your parents give you any trouble, come to my place," "Okay. I'll see you later," Meeka replied with a smile.

Whisper gave Meeka a lick and turned away and started to gallop home. In front of her, was Balto. "Why's he here?" Whisper asked to herself. She wasn't able to stop so she ended up crashing into him. The two dogs fell over. Whisper rolled on her neck and landed on her right side.

"Hey, you ran into me!" Balto shouted, getting back up. Whisper looked over at him. "Excuse me, my prince," Whisper replied sarcastically. "That's very rude, mutt. You want to get bitten?" Balto snarled.

"Biting is rude too, you know?" Whisper replied, rolling her blue eyes. "I see that that other mutt isn't with you," Balto said, taking note of Meeka's absence. "You leave Meeka out of this. It's not our fault that we're mutts. Now if you'll excuse me, I got to get home to my parents. So go on about your business and I'll go on about mine," Whisper spat esapperatedly. She turned to face him.

"Don't get in my way again," Balto growled. "Don't plan on it," Whisper replied and turned around to run back to her house.

When she got home, Whisper had found that the house was empty. She walked inside and looked around.

"Dad? Mom? You guys home?" she asked, her floppy ears perked up a little bit. She then remembered about her mother's pregnancy, knowing that she could go into labor any day.

"I gotta get to the hospital," she said to herself. The hospital for dogs would be called the vet. She turned around and galloped down the porch steps and ran down the road.

(The Hospital/Vet)

The husky/lab mix makes it to the hospital. She trotted inside, raising her tail. She enters the hospital, entering the lobby.

At the reception desk, sat a chihuahua in the desk chair named Maggie. She had dark blue eyes and light brown and white pelt. "Oh, hello. You must be that lab and husky's pup," she asked.

"Yeah. Are they here?" Whisper asked. "Yes. But they're in the back. Your father told me to call you at your house but you hadn't answered," Maggie replied.

"Oh, I was at school," Whispered answered, dropping her head a bit. "I see. Take a seat. I will tell your father that you're here," Maggie said.

The chihuahua jumped from the chair and ran into the back where the patients were. Whisper walked over to one of the lobby couches and jumped up on it. She pawed at it and laid down on the cushion.
