The surprise

I walk down to the kit room a little nervous. I open the door to see Leah pacing the room.
"You okay?" I shut the door behind me
"Ohh good you're here"
"You told me to come" she looks nervous and is still pacing
"Leah what is it?"  I'm starting to get a little worried I've never seen her like this before
"Ha is nothing I'm just er I don't know I had a plan and now you're here I don't know"
I walk up to her and place a hand on each shoulder to stop the pacing. I smile and look into her worried face
"Take a breath" she takes a deep breath in and let's it out slowly , I feel her shoulders relax under my hands.
"Better?"
"Better" she nods her head
"So what have you got me all the way down here for, all alone, are you trying to take advantage of me miss williamson"
"Only at every opportunity I get" she leans down and kisses me for what feels like the first time in forever. The feel of her lips on mine makes me feel warm and safe it calms me but at the same time sends my heart racing.

I pull away from the kiss first and meet her eyes, I can feel myself falling for this girl and it only been a couple weeks.
"I don't tell you enough but you're so beautiful Leah, I will never get tired of kissing you"
"I hope not because you owe me 5 million kissed for scaring like you did on the plane"
"I mean I didn't really get a choice in what happened but 5 million seems like a fair deal to me"
"All jokes aside when you didn't wake up I didn't know what I was going to do. It made me realise a few things"
"Ohh yeah like what?"
"Mainly to pack lighter" I push her shoulder not the times for jokes
"Ha ha very funny"
"Okay ill be serious, it made me realise that I've been so dumb when it comes to you"  I take a step back this doesn't sound good
"Dumb? as in you think it was a mistake?" She quickly steps forward and puts her hands round my waist to stop me moving away anymore
"No silly, the opposite I think this, us, is the best thing to happen to me in a very long time" I'm not even ashamed at the smile on my face and that I can feel myself welling up ( I'm a cancer, we cry)
"I'm sorry I've asked you to keep this a secret and I'll never forgive myself for pulling away and hurting you" she turns me by the hips and guides me to the table at the back of the room, with a shirt on top. It has the number 58 on it and has been signed by the whole team.
"Who's shirt is this? Do you want me to sign it is that why I'm here?"
She chuckles and I can feel it vibrate in her chest as she wraps her arms around my waist from behind and places a kiss on my neck
"It our England numbers together"
"Why is it signed?"
"I wanted to prove to you that I'm serious about not hiding us anymore, so I got everyone to sign after I told them about us"
"Wait, what? When did you do this?"
"Before the party, they were sworn to secrecy though"
"That's why you kissed me in front of them"
"I would have done that anyway" she gives me another kiss on the neck this one right on the sweet spot, she gently bites knowing this will get a reaction. I let out a soft moan and let feel my legs go weak. She takes my weight easily in her arms and leaves a train of kisses up to my ear. Goosebumps appear all over my body as she gently nibbles my ear lobe.
"Leah" It comes out as a breath
"Mmmmm" she humms in my ear
"Don't start something we can't finish here"
"I'm just happy to have you back in my arms can't I have a little fun?
"We can have a lot of fun I just don't want to have someone walk in on us"
She plants one more kiss on my neck and stand back upright
"Spoil sport!"  I can practically hear the bottom lip sticking out
"Y/n the shirt has one more thing on it you haven't seen yet"
"Ohh yeah? Don't say my mum has signed it too"
"Well she did ask"  I turn around to see her grinning at me "I'm kidding she doesn't know about the shirt"
"Flip it over"
She slowly unwraps her arms from around me and takes a step back to give me room to look at the shirt properly. She really did go to each player and get them to sign this. She's so cute I can picture her carrying it around camp with a pen making sure she gets everyone.  I notice some people have put messages on it too
"Bout time" signed Lucy and kiera
"Shes a lucky girl" signed Hempo
"I'm so happy for you two" Tooney
"Get a room so I can have mine back" signed Meado she has also drawn a love heart and a winking face
This team has become a family to me so this means the world
I take time to read it all before turning it over and instantly forget how to breath.
Instead of a name across the top of the shirt it says;

Holy shit is this actually happening, I read it a couple time before turning to face Leah still holding the shirt.
"You're killing me here kid, what's your answer?"
"Yes I will be your girlfriend"
She runs up to me and picks me up spinning me round in circles
"Thank God otherwise that would be an awkward conversation to have with everyone"

Leah williamson is my girlfriend and I couldn't be happier
