Chapter one:
Lena was sitting in her office working on a new experiment when she was overcome with a lightheaded spell. She brought her hands towards her head and reached for the drawer that she had advil in. She took out a couple and put them straight in her mouth without any water and continued to lean back in her chair to try to let it pass by.
10 minutes later she was still feeling unwell.
"Jess!" She said as she pushed the button to get the attention of her assistant.
"Yes Miss Luthor?" Jess answers
"Can you please call Kara and her sister please? I'm not feeling well and they can take me home."
"Sure ." there was a pause "Okay, it's done. They've been contacted. Do you need me to come in?" Lena didn't give an answer after Jess waited a minute "Lena? Do you need anything from me?"
"Um, there's a few blankets under your desk, would you mind bringing one in for me please?"
"Yeah, no problem." A couple minutes later lena hears her office door open and her head was still pounding too much for her to lift her head up from where she was sitting on the couch.
Jess walked into the office and while she wasn't sure what she would find, she didn't know it would be this bad. Jess walked in to see her normally badass boss holding a towel to her head that was dripping with sweat and instead of seeing the normal pencil skirts and femine tops she saw Lena wearing sweats and an old college hoodie that she usually only saved for when she stayed in the office overnight.
"Lena, oh my god. Tell me what you need"
"I just need Kara and her sister. They'll get me to a doctor." Lena said while slightly slurring.
"They're on their way. They'll be here soon, Lena. just hang on for me. Can I do anything for you?" Jess says wishing like hell that she could do something for her boss.
"Can you get me a glass of water please?" Lena asked just above a whisper.
"Yeah of course lena, just give me a second," Jess said while walking over to her boss's bar and filled a small glass with water and brought it back over to Lema.
"Thanks, Jess. I appreciate it." Lena said shakely bringing the cup to her lips.
It's a minute later when her girlfriend and her girlfriend's sister came into her office with a stretcher and a medical team.
Kara runs up to her girlfriend "lena what's happening? Tell me what I can do" Kara says with worry laced in her voice.
"You being here is enough Kara. I just want to lay down. Really badly." Lena said Leaning onto Kara's shoulder.
"I know. I know you do. But we need to go and get you checked out first. After we do that we should be able to get you home" kara said helping Lena onto the stretcher and watched with Jess as they took her away.
Kara just stood there in shock of the turn of events of the day. She was planning on bringing her girlfriend a lunch from a place she's in love with that's in France only to find out that her girlfriend wasn't feeling well.
Jess shook her arm and told her that they were going to the Van and Kara rushed off after thanking Jess for acting so quickly and calling her here.
Kara runs down to the Van and sits next to her sister where Alex was sitting off to the side watching the medical staff go over Lena's vitals while Lena sat, eyes glazed over and labored breathing. Kara looks worried and tries to keep her tears at bay when she starts to hear Lena's heart start to beat slower. Kara turns to face her sister.
"Alex. You need to tell them to hurry up" Kara says, a tear falling down her cheek.
"Why? What's wrong? Are we missing something?" Alex said while wiping away Kara's tear
"He-her heartbeat" Kara said, voice cracking
"What about it Kara?" Alex says turning to the DEO agents that were working on Lena
"It's-It's slowing down, Alex" Kara said, while more tears fell down her cheeks
"HEY. VASQUEZ, SPEED IT UP." Alex called while moving closer to Lena to help connect wires to her chest to see what her heartbeat was. When she notices that it's too slow, she jumps into action to give her the right medicines to try to keep her stats up until they get to the DEO.
Alex looks at her sister after she knows that Lena has a proper heartbeat rhythm.
"She's going to be okay, Kara. I promise. We'll figure out what happened. I promise." Alex says looking into her sister's broken looking eyes.
Not my best chapter ever, but this is just a starting point. This will get better.
