Chapter one

" So why can't they come live with us?" I Asked my mom.
"We need to get away from your father anyways. I'm sure you'll love it! It's gonna be so much fun! You even said you wanted a brother and now you have one phoebe!"
I don't get this at all. I've never even met this guy and he's gonna be my step dad in a couple months. I wanted a baby brother. Not one that's older then me. He's probley an ass anyways.
I just wanna go home to my dad. My mom just has more money so when they got a divorce my mom got a better lawyer and somehow manged to get soal custody of me. We were in Iowa right now so were only about 3 hours away from bright there. They lived in Kansas City. My mom never understood my music. Everytime I've put my headphones in on this trip she starts bitchen. My music is my release it let's go of my feelings.
"Ouch what the fuck mom!"
She slams on the breaks and my body jerks held back by my seatbelt like a brick wall.
"Would you watch you language phoebe! Your only 15 you don't need to be talking like that I swear your just like you father!"

I'm done I just role my eyes and look up. Holy fuck! This is like a mantion! It has poles holding up and it looks as big as the whitehouse! No Wonder my moms with him she's a fuckin gold digger. Probley why she left my dad after he couldn't work anymore. I get out of the car and stand in amazement of my new house. I here my mom laughing on the phone and say "were outside" I'm still drooling looking up at the house when I hear the front door open. I look down and see my stupid new step father when the door opens again and the most sexyist guy walks out. OMFG! Is he my step brother! My mom walks up and beckoned for me to fallow. She walks up and kisses her boyfriend on the lips and his son walks up to me. I'm blushing instantly. He has his hands in his pockets and sways back and forth lightly on his feet. He looks up and smiles at me, "um hi your phoebe right?"
"Um yeah nice to meet you"
Omg omg omg! He just talked to me holy shit!
"Well hey haha I'm kale, I'm 17 how old are you?"
"I'm only 15"
"Hey it's all good I've always wanted a younger sister, do you want me to show you around the house? I mean only if you want..."
" I'd love that"
I look over as he opens the door my mom is still over there talking to her new man. He holds the door open for me with a smile and I step threw. He's so sweet. He showed me around the house. I loved it! I can't believe how big it is! I look at the stove as he's showing me the kitchen
" Holy shit it's all ready midnight"
He just giggles
" we haven't got you bed put together yet so if your okay with it you can sleep in my room. You can sleep on the bed I'll sleep on an air mattress on the floor"
"Yeah that'd be amazing"
He grabs my hand and takes me back upstairs and opens the door to his room. I'm shocked it's so clean for a guy I can't believe it. He sits on his bed and waved for me to join him. I sit next to him and lie back on the bed. With a thump he lays back too. He looks over and smiles at me. I look back at kale and smile back he starts tickling me and I laugh and fight back playfully.
"Hey phoebe?"
" yeah?"
" I hope we become really close"
"We will I'll make sure of it"
I give him a smile and tell him I'm super tierd. He walks down stairs and grabs the air mattress and starts the pump and blows it up.
"Your mom and my dad fell asleep on the couch watching movies"
"Yeah she's always been a sucker for cuddling"
We both laugh and he makes his bed on the mattress on the floor. I get comfortable and lay down. His bed is so big I'm used to a twin and his is a king! He says goodnight and shuts off the lights. Before i know it I'm sound asleep.

I see my mom screaming at my dad yelling how much of a fuckup he is. He fights back with painful words but truthful ones. I can hear from my room him telling my mom how much of a terrible mom she is. She's never home with us. She's never there. I feel someone brushing the back of my neck. I hear a whisper "it's okay phoebe, I'm here. Nothing's going to hurt you anymore. I like you. Your eyes melted me when I met you. You'll be mine soon don't worry. Shushhhh I'm here"
