VEGAS' POV
Hey Veg, I want to show you my albums. If you are interested, come and meet me at my studio later.
Jeffy texted me early in the morning and I read it over and over again. Is he serious?
I thought he was just joking the first time he texted me. I didn't know that he would be really interested. I'm not good at singing and I don't know anything about it anymore.
My head hurts and my body aches. I don't like it when I drink, I lose my senses and sanity.
"You're awake?"
I turned to the man next to me and smiled when I saw his bright eyes open. I brushed his hair and kissed his forehead.
"Hm.. Did I wake you up?" I asked.
He just shook his head at me and snuggled on my chest. I'm sure he was tired last night, yes, he had enough rounds to destroy me until he passed out. He passed out instead of me, it should be me!
I almost begged him to stop but he was so into it that I just let him do what he wanted. Next time, I won't give him what he wants. I thought it was only once, but he's terrible! He has no mercy! I didn't even score, he didn't let us switch!
And now he's the one who's acting like a baby as if he didn't go wild last night. I don't know what personality I will see in the next few days, weeks, months or so— Yes! I now have something to hold on to for the future, we just became official last night.
"How are you, Doctor?"
"I'm fine, what do you want to eat?"
He sat up from lying down and I did the same. He folded the blankets and I removed his bedsheet, he seemed to be in a good mood so I let him do his thing, his morning routine.
I went straight to his kitchen to gargle my mouth and washed my face in the kitchen sink. We moved peacefully in his space, he just let me be me and he didn't make me think that we lived in different worlds.
"Do you have anything to do during the day? If possible, come home later at night," said Pete.
I thought about the message Jeffy sent me. Should I push my passion for singing or just ignore it? I'm not sure if he really liked my voice or the way I play, I'm not that confident but there's a part of me that says I should give it a try.
"I have work to do today, not at the clinic," I answered Pete who's now preparing breakfast.
"Oh sure. I'll take you to the ground floor later, we'll take the elevator from yesterday. If someone sees you coming from the penthouse, that will be a problem. Everyone here knows that I don't have any relatives who visit me."
I nodded to him and sat on the stool in his kitchen. I texted Jeffy what time and where we would meet but he hasn't replied yet, maybe he is busy.
Maybe it's not for me to tell Pete about Jeffy because Pete wasn't involved last night and I don't want him to know about my singing. Yeah, take things slowly.
I'll tell him when I'm sure. I really have no intention of continuing to sing, but since my talent has been noticed, there is nothing I can do but go along with it. If there is an opportunity, of course, I will grab it. If not, I'll continue to be a veterinarian.
"Doctor! Looks like Mino's condition is getting better, maybe he won't vomit again. It's been a month, but I'm just worried because you haven't checked up on him yet."
I looked at his cat Mino sleeping comfortably in its cat house. When he sat on my lap last night, I noticed that he had an average weight, I could see in his pupils that he was excited, he also wags his tail and snuggles his head in my hand so I'm sure he's fine.
"So, did you follow what I told you? Is Mino a vegan cat?" I asked him.
"Yup! You're right. That's why he eats meat and cat foods sluggishly because he doesn't like it, he's been putting up with that kind of food for a long time. Fortunately, he ended up in your care, so now I know what he wants and needs."
Pete placed in front of me the two types of dishes he had cooked. I tasted a dish and my taste glands went crazy with the delicious taste, I was amazed! Pete is a good cook, can I marry him?
We talked happily while eating. Time passed and I decided to go home, he took me to the ground floor at the back of the condominium, luckily he had a free pass in security. The owner of the building is probably an acquaintance or friend of his.
"Goodbye Doctor!"
"When are you going to call me by my name?" I asked sullenly.
Pete laughed and quickly kissed me on the lips, "When I say the words— I love you, Vegas."
My ears turned hot and I felt my knees go soft. Pete, without any warning, talked with sweet words.
"I love you too, Pete," I said shyly while scratching the back of my neck.
"Go ahead. Be careful, I still have a lot to do in the penthouse," he said to me while walking to the elevator.
I smiled at him before I turned and walked away. I looked for a cab and I didn't have to wait long because many cabs passed by and offered me a ride.
I looked at my phone when the notification rang, I hurried to open it because I thought it was Pete. Only then did I remember that Pete and I had no contact with each other, he hadn't asked for my number yet.
I sighed as I read the text.
Ah, let's meet at the bar where you sang last night. I'll pick you up there tonight at six, I still have a rehearsal today. See you, I guess?
