Laughters were heard while the TV continued to show Nayanthara and VJS in the car.
" Mummy!" Kanmani groaned as she rubbed her head while frowning. Her mother Pechi glared at her while her sister Kavitha smiled as she rubbed Kanmani's head tenderly.
" Yendi Kanmani Shanmugham nu yevalo alagana peyar vechikite unake Ganguly kekuthu! Pichiruven solten!" Pechi said as she showed the capati roller and wagged it infront of Kanmani.
" Yenna pilaye yesitu irruke!?" Shanmugham Gaunder said as he walked into the house.
Kavitha got up and smiled while Kanmani cried out her father's name and ran to hug his midsection.
" Ama unge ponnugala oru varthai solirakudathu udane mukku vertu vanturuvinga. Poi kulinge mothele. Kavi ma, appa ke towel yedutu kude," Pechi said as she continued to roll the flour.
Kanmani rolled her eyes and hugged her father once more before walking towards her mother. She bend down and tickled her mother's waist causing Pechi to shout while Kanmani giggled and ran outside as her mother shouted her name.
In her haste, she kept running while her face was at the back watching her house. This action of hers caused her to bump into a big figure and ended up falling flat on her bum.
" Hey hey hey! Kanne yenge vechiruke née!" Subramani fondly known as Subramani vathiyar said as he lend a hand and helped her up.
" Vere yenge, moonjile thaan sir!" Kanmani said with a wink and ran away while Subramani shook his head.
" Shanmugham sir...Shanmugham sir," Subramani said and smiled when Kavitha walked out of the house.
" Yennama Kavitha nalla irukiya ? " Subramani asked and Kavitha smiled politely and nod her head.
" Appa kulichitu irrukaru sir, ninge ukarunge naa thani yedutu varen," Kavitha said and walked away while Subramani sat on the verandah.
He smiled and took the large cup from Kavitha and gulped the cold water. Subramani wipes his mouth with the back of his hand and then passed the silver cup to Kavitha.
" Yennama College lam pogalaya ? Née plus 2 le nalla mark thana vangune," Subramani said and Kavitha smiled softly.
" Ah Vathiyar sir Vange Vange, " Shanmugham Gaunder said as he walked out of the house, drying his hair.
" Née ulle po ma," Shanmugham Gaunder said and Kavitha smiled and walked away.
" Yenna vishayam sir ?" Shanmugham Gaunder asked Subramani who exhaled his breath.
" Vere yenna sir, Kanmani pathi thaan. Rombhe vaal jasti achu, School le iniki lighter eh illama deepavalli pattas ah kolutita. Headmaster warning note kudukalam sonaru...naa thaan venam unge kitte solren nu sonne. Ninga pesame aval yen kitte tuition ke anupunge sir appe thaan ava valluthanam konjam adangatum," Subramani said.
Shanmugham Gaunder chuckled and shook his head.
" Pombalai pillai padichi yenna panna poguthu. Naane school pakkam nalla thaan avala ivalo thuram anupuren. Vidunge sir, namma kude irrukara veraikum nalla happy ah irrukatum. Yeneke vendiyathulam yen ponnunge rendu peyarum nalla yedutule katti kudukanum...athunge nalla valanum," Shanmugham said causing Subramani to exhale his breath.
" Seri rightu vidunge...Ama Kavitha ke mappilai vishyam lam yepidi poguthu?" Subramani asked causing Shanmugham to rub his forehead.
" Yen thangachi paiyan Asokan ke pathom Ana jataga porutam serile...Papom vere yenthe varan varuthunu," Shanmugham said causing Subramani to purse his lips.
" Solren thapa nenaikatinge, Kavitha nalla mark vanguna ponnu. He took his leave while Shanmugham Gaunder sat on his verandah pondering about the teacher's words.
" Maa Kavitha," Shanmugham called out and smiled when Kavitha walked out.
" Un friend ke Bangalore le mappilai patangala...yenna achu ?" Shanmugham asked and Kavitha blinked.
" Née ulle podi," Pechi said as she walked out causing Shanmugham Gaunder to frown.
" Subramani vatiyar sonathu yeneke nallathu thaan tonuthu," Pechi said causing Shanmugham to shake his head.
" Yenna pesure nee? Athulam-" Shanmugham began when Pechi shook her head.

That evening the family sat down to have their dinner. Shanmugham exhaled his breath and glanced at his younger son who was munching on his chapati.
" Yenda Tanjuvur le, nalla college ille tutorial irruka ?" Shanmugham asked causing Vishva to blink.
" Chinna college thaan pa. Naa Trichy ponna thaan nalla degree vanga mudiyum;" Vishva said while Kanmani snickered.
Vishva glared at Kanmani who stuck her tongue out while Kavitha shook her head as Pechi pinched Kanmani's thighs.
" Chinna college na ? Yenna padichi kudupanga ?" Shanmugham asked causing Vishva to blink.
" Athu yetachum management accounting apidi irruke...yen pa ?" Vishva asked causing Shanmugham to exhale his breath.
" Ma Kavitha anthe padipu unaku seriya ?" Shanmugham asked Kavitha who looked flabbergasted.
" Deyh! Unake yenna manda yethum kolambi pocha! Pombalai pilla ah ange poi padika solre ! Daily bus le poitu varanum ava!" Shanmugham's mother said causing Kavitha and Pechi to exhale their breath while Kanmani shrug her shoulders.
" Akka yethuku ange lam poganum ? Venumna ange ulle vatiyar yarachum inge vanthu solli kuduka solalam...Certificate avanga ready panni kudupanga," Vishva said.
Kavitha swallowed her saliva and glanced at Pechi who sighed. Shanmugham pursed his lips and looked at Kavitha. He exhaled his breath and gave a small nod.
" Seriya Kavi ma ? Appa Subramani vathiyar kude poi ange pesi unake inge vanthe solikudukara mathiri oru vatiyar ready panre," Shanmugham said and Kavitha smiled, nodding her head.
" Ama akka ke yethuku ippo ithulam ? Athan nalla accounting seirale namma rice mill kelam," Vishva said causing Shanmugham to smack his head.
" Dorai mothele unge plus 2 ve pass panunge aprom pesalam. Naa nalike Subramani vatiyar ah kutitu town ke poitu vanturen," Shanmugham said with a wide smile.
" Appa yeneke vara mothu nail polish vangitu vanga...Blue colour venum," Kanmani said causing Shanmugham to smile and nod his head.
