The Mission (1)

"What do you mean I have another mission?" Aislynn grumbles as she springs up from the meeting chair.

"I just got back from the last which, by the way, was not an easy one.. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!" She smacks her fist against the table in protest which only makes things worse. Laughter erupts around the table.

"Nat, please back me up on this." Aislynn turned to face Natasha who is equally just as laughing as everyone else.

"No can do darling, this is our job. You are paid to risk your life." Natasha, who was grinning, rolled her eyes.

Aislynn slowly backed away from the table and leaned against the wall, her arms folding against her chest in response.

"Ok, so let me get this straight, I, Aislynn Casey, has to go and rescue Wanda from what?"

Laughter once again erupted across the table. It was Sam who stood up to talk next.

"Nick said plenty of times that Wanda is out of our radar. She has gone missing after she made that hex in WestView and no one knows where she has gone. Your mission is to go and find her, and bring her back here."

"She is valuable for this team as well" Tony pipes up somewhere in the room. "Her power is insane, Aislynn, you better get her."

Everyone nodded in agreement. They all remembered what Wanda did and what she is capable of doing. Aislynn looked at each person in the room one by one and groaned in response.

"Fine, fine, look, I'll go and get her. It mustn't be that difficult."

The laughter quickly dies down as Nick pulls out a hidden device. He pressed one button and the screen ahead light up with life, displaying photos of Wanda and coordinates.

"We last saw her in WestView talking to Monica. I am unsure if Monica was able to attach a tracking device on her. We assume she hasn't gone far but we have no way to track her down easily. Yes she is valuable to the team, Tony, but she is also an avenger. We must stick together to stop any hidden, alien threats."

Nick looks round the room and sighs.

"Aislynn, I'm counting on you. You must not fail. You must bring her back to the avengers compound. End of meeting."

Nick slams the device on the table and walks out, quickly followed by Steve, Sam, Tony, and Thor. Nat stayed behind and slowly made her way to Aislynn.

"Hey Aislynn, if you ever need help with this mission, you know where I am." She gently pats Aislynn's left shoulder but was reluctant to give her a hug.

"It's ok, thank you. I better go and prepare."

Aislynn turned to face Natasha but stopped in her tracks as past memories blurred her vision. Them hugging, kissing, cuddling. Natasha and Aislynn used to date, which lasted 2 years, but they broke up due to Natasha falling out of love with Aislynn. She never knew why but presumed she was never enough for Natasha. Sadness started to creep up on Aislynn face so she slides Natasha's hand from her shoulder and walked past, heading straight to her room. She didn't want Natasha to see her valuable, weak. She only glanced back once to see Natasha staring back at her with confusion and hurt written all over her.

Once she was back in her room, she started to pace around. 'What am I doing? I don't even need to prepare. I don't need weapons considering my power is magic. Just like Wanda's but gold.' she stopped pacing and grabbed her bag at the corner of her room and pulled out her laptop. She hastily typed in the coordinates for WestView.

'It is a nice town actually, why would someone want to leave?' Aislynn thought as she scrolled through the accompanying photos when she was hit with a sudden thought.

'What if she never left..?'
