(Season one episode three
Poison Ivy)
There's plenty of upsides to being a big spawn of the fabulously wealthy. But the downside? Super successful parents expect nothing less from their offspring.Maisie was putting on her uniform in a hurry. It was the Ivy week for the juniors, which she and her friends were. Today were the interviews. And though she didn't have parents to impress, her mom being dead and her dad probably off getting drunk, she wanted to do this for herself.
She began to do her makeup.
And when it comes to college, that means the ivy's. It's more than just getting into college. It's setting a course for the rest of your life.
She finished her makeup with the red lipstick, that was her signature look.
And for those few who aren't legacies, the pressures are no less. When parents have sacrificed for their children's future, what kid would wanna let them down?
She finished her look by putting her hair in a high ponytail. She grinned at herself in the mirror.
She was ready.

Maisie sat beside Blair while the principal and others were talking about ivy week. She tried to pay attention but she quickly zoned out.
Flashbacks
"Come on, Al." Maisie called, rushing down the stairs. "We can't be late today."
No response came.
"Alec?" Maisie called again.
She groaned, really hoping he didn't ditch her. She went to the kitchen to grab a water.
She paused finding a note on the kitchen table.
I know what today is. But I went to the cemetery to talk with mom first. I would've asked you to come but... I know you don't like coming here that often.
You will do amazing today!
Just don't think about mom or dad. I know you will, it's what we both do before we sabotage something.
