❀ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴇᴀᴠʏ ʀᴀɪɴ bucketed down on the two young teenagers, trying to make their way home. They huddled under an uninhabited awning that loomed over a quiet bodega, which was the only thing providing them with shelter.

Dinero laughed as Ni'mari struggled to keep her already soaked hair dry. He dragged her closer to him, still laughing as he gave her a hug and moved from side to side.

"It's not funny, Dinero." She said, patting off the raindrops that had landed on the tip of her nose.

Notti looked down at her and smiled. "You should have your hair like this more, I like it."

"So you don't like it usually?" She replied playfully, pulling away from the hug and looking at him with a mug on her face.

He rolled his eyes, stepping closer to her. "You know what I mean."

"Imma have to straighten it all properly now, that's gonna take mad long, bro." Ni'mari said, sighing as she looked at herself in her phone camera.

"I like it curly." Dinero said, taking his lighter out of his pocket. "Where that blunt I rolled at?"

Ni'mari dug in her cross-body bag, looking for it. She handed it to him and sighed again. "How we gonna get home, Notti?"

"Imma get us a Uber, princess. Don't worry." He replied, lighting up the blunt.

She wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his chest.

He inhaled the smoke into his mouth and placed his chin on the top of her head as he exhaled.

"I'm so cold." Ni said, digging her hands into the back pockets of his jeans. He giggled, stepping back away from her.

"Why you ticklin' my ass, bro?" He said, handing her the blunt. He took off the grey Polo Ralph Lauren zip up hoodie he was wearing and gave it to her.

She exhaled, passing him back the blunt. She took the hoodie and threw it on over her white long-sleeved crop top, zipping it up. "Awww, Notti. Thank you, bae. And I wasn't tickling ya ass, shutup."

He laughed as he pulled his phone out of his pocket, about to order the Uber.

"My mom's gonna kill me, bro." She said, looking down at the large puddle next to them as water from the edge of the awning dripped into it.

"She won't, ya mom's chill." He said, looking down at her, trying to console her.

"She will, bro. We said we was gon' be back like 3 hours ago." She said, pulling her phone out of her pocket and holding it up to his face. "Look at all those missed calls."
