A few days after the incident Cali was sitting at the kitchen table, she had told her dad about what had happened before she took her nap, he hadn't known what to think but he was very supportive of Cali's newfound ability to read minds, she was rather nervous to tell him but in the end, he still accepted the girl that he had come to love like she was own.

It was Saturday morning and Cali and Charlie were in the kitchen having breakfast, it was 10 o'clock in the morning and Charlie didn't have to be at the station until noon which meant the father-daughter duo got to spend the morning together.

They had just finished eating when there was a knock at the door, Charlie got up and kissed Cali on the head as he passed on his way to the door, the police chief opened the door to find two strangers at the door, "How can I help you?"

The red-haired woman smiled at him "I'm Jean Grey and this Professor Charles Xavier, and we're here to talk to you about your daughter Calissa."

Charlie looked between the two of them and sighed Lissa had told him that a man was coming to talk to her about her newfound ability, he nodded "Come on in, Lissa mentioned that you would be stopping by."

The group was now gathered in the living room, Cali looked at the two newcomers, she heard Charles' voice in her head 'hello Calissa.'

"You're Charles... the one that spoke to me a few days ago."

He nodded "I am, this is Jean" he mentioned to the girl beside him "she is also like us, a telepath, and we want to talk to you about your ability, is that alright?"

Cali nodded "yes, what do you want to know?"

"What happened when you first discovered your ability?"

Cali thought about it for a moment before she spoke, "Well we were at the mall and my dad had left me sitting on a bench while he went and got us ice cream it was where he could see me and everything and this guy in a uniform walked over to me, he was a security guard and he was asking me questions I guess thinking that I lost my parents while they were shopping, but I told him that my dad would be right back, that he was just getting ice cream from the shop that was right in front of the bench I was waiting on. But he just kept asking questions and he was starting to annoy me and then everything happened so fast and the next thing I know he went flying back as if an invisible force pushed him away from me after that was the first time I heard someone else's thoughts. It was my dad's thoughts and then suddenly the voices were so loud and I had a headache and it didn't stop until we got away from the crowded area, only after that was when the voices were quiet and I could finally hear my own thoughts again with the expectation of hearing my dad's thoughts."

The Professor and Jean shared a look after hearing what Cali had told them about the development of her ability, then Charles looked back at the young girl "you could be a telekinetic-telepath which would explain why it would seem like he was pushed away by an invisible force, Jean?"

The red-haired woman smiled at Cali "if that is the case, I am going to try something, and then after me I want you to see if you can do it as well okay? Because I am also a telekinetic-telepath."

Cali nodded at her "okay."

Then using her telekinesis Jean made a book fly from the coffee table into her hand and then looked at Cali "so what I want you to do since this is your first time trying to use it intentionally, is to picture whatever item you want in the room, something small would be preferred and then close your eyes and picture it coming towards you... can you do that for me Calissa?"

Cali nodded, doing as she was instructed she pictured the tv remote that was on the coffee table in her mind and it lifted into the air, Charlie was watching in awe almost since he had never seen anything like it before in his life, then the remote flew towards the 7-year-old, who caught it with her eyes closed still, she opened her eyes once she felt that it was in her hand and looked at them "like that?"

Charles nodded at her "exactly like that, you are indeed a telekinetic-telepath, which brings us to the other part of this discussion young Calissa here is a mutant, like Jean and myself, her mutation activated, that day in the mall, it doesn't take much for a particularly powerful mutant to active the mutation, when your started feeling frustrated at the security guard it used that heightened emotion and it snapped into place if you will, activating your telekinetic and telepathic abilities."

Cali sat there shocked at what she had just learned she was a mutant? like the X-Men? Woah she never imagined that anything well interesting would happen in her life even though she was only seven. That was when she noticed that she couldn't hear either of their thoughts just hers, her dads and the people that live on their street "how come I can't hear either of your thoughts?"

Charles smiled at the girl "well you can learn to shield your mind from other telepaths, letting them hear only what you want them to hear and if you don't want them to hear anything at all it'll just be silence." the Professor looked back to the police chief "now I can help teach your daughter how to control her abilities, we can help." then he handed Charlie a pamphlet for his school. "I am the headmaster of a school in New York, for young mutants. We not only teach them regular school subjects but we teach them how to control their abilities, it would be ideal for your daughter to attend."

Charlie reads the pamphlet in his hand "Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Westchester County, New York." then he silently read of the rest of it, he knew that she needed someone to teach her to control her new abilities but he didn't know if he could send her to the other side of the country but Charlie sighed looking down at her "what do you think kiddo?"

Cali looked up at him with a smile "I think going to this school would be a good idea dad if they can teach me how to control my new powers, that means I won't accidentally hurt someone like I did at the mall with the guard."

Charlie kissed her on the head and nodded "okay kiddo, if you want to go to this school then we will get everything set up for you to go."

Cali smiled at her dad "I do want to go." Charlie talked to the professor asking a few questions about the school and everything while Cali just sat on the couch and listened, she was still kind of in shock at how her life had changed so much in only a few days.

A little while later after Charlie had all his questions answered they were informed that they would have to visit the school, one for the official registration and two so Cali could get a feel for her new environment.

Both Swans agreed and they were supposed to go the last week in July since the semester officially started the second week in August and it was the middle of June currently. Cali would be staying behind at the school after her registration so she could settle in before her classes and training started.

After the two visitors left the father and daughter alone, Charlie smiled at Cali "you sure about this kiddo?"

Cali hugged her dad and nodded "Yes I'm sure about this, I don't want to accidentally hurt you or anyone else, this is the best option where I can learn control and I'll be gone during the school months, I'll be home during holidays and the summer, it'll be like going to some fancy boarding school."

Charlie chuckled at her but nodded wrapping his arms around her and returning the hug "all right then kiddo just thought I'd double-check." he kissed her on the head "now that's settled run on up and get ready, I'll drop you off at Sue and Harry's and I'll pick you up when I get off work."

"Okay daddy," Cali said before she ran up to her room to get changed and ready to go, this was a normal occurrence since she wasn't old enough to stay by herself, her dad would drop her off at Sue's when he had to work and she wasn't in school and since it was Summer, she spent most of her days there and her dad would pick her up when he got off work.
