Sweet Pea knew something was wrong the minute his car pulled into the parking lot of the Ghouls warehouse. To start, only Penny stood out in the open- she had no guards, Malachai was nowhere in sight, and she wore a smile like she already had what she wanted. The Ghouls were no threat to Sweet Pea's Mafia- they were a group of inexperienced thugs without any form of order who didn't understand that this business wasn't just guns and drugs, they had no connections in the city, and no one wanted to cooperate with them because they already worked for the Serpents.

Sweet Pea waited until everyone else had exited their vehicles until he stepped out, his phone in one hand as he checked a message from the Chief of Police- who also worked for him- that read he would be attending Sweet Pea's annual charity ball that was to take place in only 14 hours. After a quick reply Sweet Pea put his phone away, walking towards the small older women with a polite grin.

"Let's skip the pleasantries Penny, it's late. What is it you wanted that absolutely couldn't wait until tomorrow?" Sweet Pea kept the edge on his voice, noticing with pleasure as the blonde shifted with discomfort under his intense stare. With ease Sweet Pea glanced around, nodding with approval when every one of his guys were spread out evenly around the lot, signaling silently that it was clear. Sweet Pea relaxed his stance, clasping his hands in front of him as he waited for a reply.

"It's no secret that we had spoken about working a deal over the northeastern docks: you have plenty of incoming ports and the Ghouls have none. I was very disappointed when I got your letter. Why won't you agree to the deal?" Penny asked, her voice sticky sweet and making Sweet Pea grimace at the tone. Irritation had already rooted when the meeting was called due to the late hour, and now that irritation was budding into anger. This was the reason she wanted to meet?

Sweet Pea inhaled sharply, turning partly away from Penny to groan into his hands. Fangs and Reggie both tried not to laugh outright along with countless others, while Toni covered her chuckles with an obvious fake cough. After a few passing seconds that consisted of Sweet Pea counting backwards from ten, he turned back to Penny, raising his eyebrows at the angry red embarrassment that pulled her mouth down into a frown as she crossed her arms.

"Since we obviously aren't doing this the right way," Sweet Pea started slowly, removing his jacket and handing it back to Reggie before shoving his hands in his pockets. "And you don't understand how this works or even want to, let me be blunt an ask you this: why would I even consider giving you anything when you clearly stated that I would get nothing in return?" Sweet Pea didn't wait for Penny to answer him for he knew that anything that came out of her mouth would only piss him off farther, so he continued. "You proposed I just give you the docks. You wanted to keep all the profits and you didn't want to work with me, even though if you did I would have declined that offer as well. You have nothing to give me and you are in no position to call any sort of meet up to question me or my decisions."

Satisfied with his words, Sweet Pea turned around to walk back to his car, wanting nothing more than a drink and then to sleep for at least ten hours before he had to go shake the hands of congress and business men at his own party. He felt drained due to his job and because of the scene he had with you earlier. In all honesty, Sweet Pea wanted to call you, have you come over, and bury himself into you along with his worries. He wanted to talk to you, hold you, and make sure you were okay more than anything, but he knew that that arrangement was no more.

"Boss, Archie just messaged me because the guest that he was supposed to pick up at your house isn't there." Fangs rushed out, looking at his phone as the blood in Sweet Pea's veins heated with a mixture of anger and worry. He had told you to wait for the car! Now you could be walking the streets for all he knew, by yourself in the middle of the night.
