"RUN RUN RUN!!" The sargent shouted at the young men, who in pure confusion were running after a thief, sort of. The subject had gotten his hands on some precious technological gadgets that were stored, and according to the security team, some grenades and firearms were taken as well. The stranger seemed to carry everything in a dark green bag. It looked heavy, but the subject continued to run at full speed. "YOU IDIOTS! DO SOMETHING!!" The sargent ordered loudly. The cadets saw they had no choice. They started shooting bullets towards the running figure. It dodge the bullets somehow, as if it was a supernatural being. It ran, ran and ran more, until it reached a dark alley. The subject slowed down. It realised, it was surrounded by four armed men, who looked tired and lifeless. "Put the bag down and we won't shoot." One said. "We can solve this peacefully." Spoke another one. The tall figure didn't speak, lowering the scarf it had to cover its face, revealing a young man with dark brown eyes. Slowly, he placed the bag on the floor, putting his hands behind his head. "We got him cornered, Sir." An armed man announced on a communicating device while aproching the target to pick up the bag, only to have his throat sliced open in a matter of seconds by the mysterious boy, who was armed with a pair of tachi swords that appeared to be hidden on his back. The boy started to run towards the cadets at full speed, dodging bullets that were travelling at lightning speed towards his body, attacking the men before they did it first. After the final cadet's body fell on the ground, the male figure adjusted the scarf, to hide his face once again, placed his weaponry on his back and picked the bag up from the floor. He started running towards the exit, as fast as he could, but a sound of a motocycle engine made him slow down. The male figure then heard shooting sounds coming from behind. More cadets were trying to catch him. Or kill him. This time the boy started to run away, towards the exit, as fast as the wind. But this time, unfortunately, one of the many bullets reached him and landed on his right arm. He let out a small yell, the sudden feeling of the bullet piercing his arm left the young man static, covering the small wound with his hand. "I GOT HIM!" yelled a cadet. The boy thought this was it, until...
A sound of a motorbike 'roared' throughout the air. It reached the wounded male, stopping right infront of him, way to close to his face. On top of the vehicle, there was a female figure, white long hair tied up in a ponytail, light green eyes shining, as if they were staring at his soul. The woman had most of her face covered by a scarf as well. She helped the boy climb up to the bike and noticed the young soldiers running towards them guns blazing. The female figure decided to end it, by throwing an explosive towards the cadets with all strenght. The soldiers knowing what was about to happen, ran for their lives. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? YOU'RE LETTING THEM ESCAPE!!" A sargent screamed, seeing the fugitives leaving at full speed on the motorcycle. He then heard a noise...
Tick... Tick... Tick...
The explosive was activated. It caused mass destruction and took lives of innocent young men. Some nearby trees were caught on fire by the incident. All of this, while the fugitives were watching a dark cloud form in the sky from far away. They kept on road until they reached their base. A small wooden cabin, where they were hiding from the citizens, next to a small river. They got in. The boy placed the bag on the table. "So what did you snatch?"The woman asked. "A couple of firearms, some explosives." "Did you get the main-" "Yes, I did." The male reached for the bag and took a metal fragment. The girl nodded in aproval. After organizing the weaponry, both went outside. The silence was filling the air. One of them spoke up. "Did you really need to do that?" The boy asked. "I mean, I know they were getting closer, but we could've gotten away without killing half of soldiers." The female sighed, and took the scarf off. "Don't start Ezekiel." "They did nothing wrong! They were innocent!-" "They stole our way to go back to Gaia!! They destroyed it! And you're telling me they're innocent?!" "Maybe they didn't know about it Saige!" Both stared at each other. "Where did you even get an explosive that powerful?" "ShinRa's finest technology. You know that when it comes to weaponry they only use top of the line products." Saige said. "To be honest, I wasn't expecting to work that well." "How did you even got your hands on it?" Ezekiel questioned. "Well, I used to work for ShinRa back then. I won't give much detail on it, but I had these guys on my display. And when I got fired, I snagged some. Explosives, guns." Saige explained. "Hold up- YOU worked for ShinRa?" The boy interrogated. The girl nodded. "Yes, I did. Besides all the pain that I went thru to get in, it was pretty cool." "What did you do there?" "I used to be a Turk." Ezekiel gasped, a thousand questions forming on his head, the first one to come out being: "How did I not know about that?" Saige chuckled. "You don't need to know my whole life. Besides..." She looked down at the flowing river, the sound of the water running down was soothing and calming. "It's a chapter of my life that begun the worse that had happen to me by then." Ezekiel leaned back, lying down on the grass. " I shall save my questions for another time then." Saige followed the boy, lying down next to him, observing the starry night. Saige broke the silence. "Hey 'Zeke..." "Yeah?" "Do you miss them?" Ezekiel looked at her. "I mean, yeah. They are our friends." "I know but, I miss someone else..." The boy sit up, listening to his friend. "Who?" The girl sighed. "I... don't think you know her." "Well if you tell me, maybe I can verify that thought of yours. What's her name?" Ezekiel looked at Saige's eyes. His dark brown looking at her light green ones. Her gaze met somewhere else, as she didn't answer. "Did our friends know her?" "Yes, especially Cloud. She spent some time on his mind." "Wait, is that person, the same girl that Cloud was-" "Yes, it's her." Saige admitted. Ezekiel sighed. "Then no, I did not know her. But what I do know..." He stood up from the grass. "Is that we should get some shut eye before we vanish from this place." Saige nodded in agreement, taking the boy's hand to help her get up. "You found our next target?" "I did... I'm thinking on going north. There's this rumor that people saw something fall from the sky in this area, there's a mansion in there. We could stay there as well." Ezekiell explained, showing Saige a map and tracing the road that they were going to take on their next trip. "Seems great. We'll move in the morning." "Well it's almost 4am so... maybe at 7?" "Three hours to sleep then." Both went to their seperate mattresses, Ezekiel being the first one to fall asleep, while Saige stared at the ceilling, unable to sleep right away. The thought of never going back home terrefied her, as well the memories. Those excruciating and horrible memories. She shook her head, trying her best to drift of to sleep.
