Chapter 4 Gus POV

Gus POV:

We finally got to the owl house, we were greeted by Hooty shouting "Luz. Goops, and scrawny kid are here!" I tried to hold back my laughter, but I was kind of failing. Then Luz came and opened the door, with a big smile on her face. "Hey, guys. We were just about to go roller skating! You guys coming or staying?" I started roller skating a while ago so I was pretty good. "Yeah, I'll come," I said. " I guess I'll come as well," Matty said, groaning. "Great! Let's go. The others are already there!" We said bye to hooty and started walking to the skating rink not too far away.

We finally arrived and everyone was already there waiting. They already had skates on and here heading to the rink. ( I don't know if that's what it's called but that's what I'm calling it) "Let's go get our skates," Luz said pointing over to the booth. After me and Luz put on our skates I saw Matty hasn't put his on yet. "You good matty?" "Oh... Yeah I-I'll join in a minute. You go ahead" Hm... Odd, But I didn't think about it too much. I just nodded and went off with Luz to join the others. It was quite fun. Me and Hunter even decided to race each other. I decided I wanted to flex my skill. Once I passed hunter, I started going backwards. Everyone looked quite shocked, I mean... a 12-year-old was beating a 16-year-old. Not to mention, while going backwards. I won easily. It was quite fun, but I noticed Matty still hadn't joined us. I decided to check on him. But to my shock, he still hadn't put on his skates. "Hey, Matty. You okay?" I seemed to startle him but he didn't respond. "Is it the wrong size?" I asked as I sat next to him. "No. It's just... I-I don't know how to skate" "That's it?" He looked at me confused. "W-what do you mean?" "Matty, I can help you. Cmon" I said pointing to his skates, signaling to him to put them on. He hesitated at first, But he finally agreed and put on his skates, Falling over almost as soon as he stood up. I grabbed his hand and we went over to the rink.

He had a bit of trouble balancing. "This is a death trap" He shouted. I just laughed, and as I helped him up Luz came out of nowhere. Literally... She was using an invisibility glyph. "Where are you spying on us?!" Matt shouted, seeming quite pissed. "Hahaha, Kind of? Uhhhh BYE" And just like that, She was gone. I didn't know what to do so I just looked at Matty and asked if he wanted to continue. He agreed and we continued. "How do you do this?! It's impossible!" Matty said, unable to keep his balance. I just burst out laughing. "It's not funny!" "haha sorry" I decided to try to help him balance, But before he could he started to fall again. I was able to catch him that time. "You okay?" I asked. He looked up at me, and his face turned red. I decided to help him out and started to skate with him in my arms. "What are you doing?!" He shouted trying to straighten up. "Calm down Matty, I said I would help, didn't I?" "I-I guess you did. But this is embarrassing. Everyone's looking at us..." He wasn't lying. Everyone WAS looking at us. But I didn't care. "Then just keep your eyes on me. It'll help you balance" He looked at me, His cheeks still bright red. "Plus... Out of sight, Out of mind" I said, giving a wink, and surprisingly he smiled.

We continued for a bit and then I asked if he was ready to try by himself. He nodded and I slowly let him go. And he did it. He wasn't moving his feet, but he was keeping his balance. "You're doing it!" I cheered. "Y-yeah, I am. I'm doing it!" He said happily.
