"Wait! Josie, you can't leave!" Hope's eyes flashed gold and she grabbed Josie's wrist in desperation.

Josie looked down in shock at her wrist trapped in Hope's grasp.

"Let me go!" she tried to pull away, but Hope's grip was too strong. "Ow! Hope, you're hurting me!"

Hope's golden eyes met Josie's brown ones that were filled with pain and fear. Hope's eyes returned to their normal blue at the sight.

Hope released her grip on Josie who immediately pulled her wrist to her chest.

"I'm so sorry," Hope broke out of her trance, moving closer to Josie to comfort her.

"No, stay away from me," Josie flinched back.

It broke Hope's heart to see the love of her life recoiling from her in fear.

"I'm not going to hurt you."

"Did you not see what you just did to me a few minutes ago?" Josie truly wondered if Hope had lost her mind.

"I didn't mean to, it was an accident. Believe me, Jo, I would never hurt you on purpose," Hope pleaded.

"Like I've never heard that one before," Josie turned to walk away.

She was stopped by a hand on her shoulder that turned her around to face Hope again. Josie stood frozen in place as Hope slowly closed the gap between them.

"I have a lot of darkness inside me, demons that haunt me. I need you to be the light that drives them away," Hope gently caressed Josie's cheek with her hand.

Hope connected their lips in a passionate kiss.

"This is toxic," Josie pulled away with a pout. "You know this can never last?"

"You'll never leave me," Hope said lowly into Josie's ear.

Josie shoved Hope away from her.

"What makes you so sure?" Josie stared into Hope's eyes darkly.

"There's darkness inside of you too. We're drawn to each other like two messed up magnets."

After another staring match, Josie relented. She rested her head on Hope's shoulder and melted into her.

Hope wrapped her arms around Josie in a comforting embrace.

"You hurt me today," Josie mumbled into Hope.

"I know," Hope responded solemnly.

"You convinced me to stay with you again."

"I know."

"I hate this cycle we're trapped in."

"I hate it too."

Hope woke up, feeling Josie's arms wrapped around her bare waist.

Josie was still asleep, and Hope didn't want to wake her, so she entertained herself by running her fingers up and down Josie's arm.

Hope looked down at Josie's wrist and frowned at the bruising that had formed.

She carefully brushed her fingertips against the bruise, causing Josie's brows to furrow slightly.

"It'll fade," Josie groggily opened her eyes.

"You know I'm sorry about that," Hope said guiltily.

"I know that's what you say."

"I say it, and I mean it. I'm so sorry, baby," Hope placed small kisses all over the bruises.

Josie smiled slightly at Hope's sweetness. The strongest supernatural in the world really did have a soft spot for her.

"I want to believe you, I do. But then you go and do things, you hurt me. You make it difficult to trust you, and just when I think we're over, you manage to win me back. The bruises will fade, but I feel like I'm going crazy in this circle that we keep going in."

"There's something wrong with me, Josie, I know. My temper, it gets the best of me sometimes," Hope brought her soft kisses up Josie's arm and to her neck. "I need you to keep me in check."

"You know I'm here to support you no matter what, but I always end up getting hurt."

"I guess that's just collateral damage," Hope said as she started to suck on Josie neck.

Josie knew she should be more alarmed at Hope's statement, but the spot Hope was sucking was in just the right place.

"Mmm," Josie moaned but then pulled away slightly. "I need to get ready for class."

"Can't you stick around for a few more minutes of fun?" Hope's lips continued to caress Josie's neck.

"I don't think so," Josie breathed and glanced over at her alarm clock. "Fuck! It's almost 9!"

Josie darted across the room and threw on some clothes. She scrambled around, throwing books and pencils and whatever else into her bag which she carelessly slung on her back.

"Josie-" Hope tried to get her to stop for a second but failed.

"Make sure you shut the door on your way out."

Hope sighed when the door slammed shut and she was left alone.
