"lola, babe, could you please pay attention?" owen sighed as she begged for participation for the second time, most definitely growing impatient. they were preparing a model for a photoshoot, owen doing hair and lola doing makeup, but lola was clearly easily distracted by the buzzing coming from her phone.

"shit, sorry," lola mumbled, quickly shoving her phone back into her pocket and sending owen an apologetic glance before getting back to work. "girl, you got a sneaky link or something?" the model, angela, giggled at lola's attention span.

angela was easily one of their favorite models to work with. she was always sweet, patient, and didn't mind joking around with them. they have worked with plenty of rude ones, but angela definitely didn't fit into that category. her name suited her perfectly.

"jesus, no," lola laughed as she did angela's eyeshadow, "it's just vinnie."

after they were slightly forced to conversate during lola's visit, the pressure was immediately lifted off their shoulders. lola didn't think they would start talking regularly, and neither did he. but after vinnie sent her a message to ask if she made it back to france safely, a conversation started up, and now their conversations became a common reoccurance.

talking daily would be too much, lola decided. but...every other day won't hurt, right?

it was shortly after the visit that lola decided she was never getting over him. it was quite obvious at this point, and inevitable at that. she'd never love anyone the way she loved him, and something tells her nobody will ever make her feel as loved as he did.

she would never act on those feelings though, she wouldn't even dream of it. that would be unfair to both vinnie and his girlfriend, and much to the internet's disbelief, she isn't that type of person.

"mmm," angela hummed in reply as her and owen gave each other a look, before looking back at the mirror.

"what was that?" lola furrowed her eyebrows, noticing how the two glanced at each other.

"i don't know what you're talking about." , "what was what?" owen and angela spoke at the same time, looking at each other again.

lola playfully rolled her eyes and smiled, shaking her head, "it's about vinnie, ain't it?"

"well..." owen trailed off as they curled a strand of angela's hair, knowing this conversation was something lola had been avoiding.

"okay, let's be real for a second. i'm barely even caught up on the whole 'vinnie n' lola' lore, but even i know this is off." angela moved her eyes from owen back to the mirror. they all laughed at that, but lola still shook her head.

"it's nothing, really. we just kind of made up at the lazer tag thing. it's not like we're besties or whatever, we just talk casually now without it being awkward or passive-aggressive. ex-lovers can be friends." she shrugged.

not when they're still in love with each other, owen thought, but of course they kept it to themselves. it was none of their business, and they didn't want to step out of line.

"oh, okay. i thought he had a girlfriend or something," angela shrugged, picking up her bag of lay chips off the counter and eating a chip slowly, being careful not to mess up her makeup.

"well," owen and lola said at the same time, making angela raise her eyebrows.

"i mean...she's cool with it though, right?" owen asked lola before angela could.

"yeah, of course. or, i think so? i mean, i assume so. i guess so."

"you don't sound very sure." angela chuckled, very amused by the situation. normally, she wouldn't engage in such personal conversations with stylists. but, ever since owen and lola started working with her, gossiping became her favorite pass time during photoshoots.

"it's just cause, i never really asked him. we're just friends, and she said hey to me at the party so i kind of assumed she liked me. i feel like it's not really my place to worry about that."

"yeah, that's true. i was just thinking that, if it was the other way around i would want someone to tell me. i guess that's just me though." angela shrugged as owen finished her hair, before slowly standing up and taking off her robe.

lola only nodded, but in her head she was having a crisis. angela was right. if it was the other way around, she would definitely want to be aware of it. she just didn't want to weird vinnie out by making it seem like she was concerned about his relationship, because she wasn't, but she doesn't want to be the reason breanna gets hurt.

how was she going to bring it up to vinnie? that, she had no idea of. but she knew it needed to be brought up, and fast.
