25th April 1968 ~ 16th August 2002

Alessandro Esposito was a doting husband and a loving father to two children. He was born in Naples, Italy, and moved to New York, America, on his own at the age of 18. With the money his parents had given him, he began his own mechanic business, 'Sandro's Repairs.' Though the company did not gain popularity immediately, he still earned enough money to keep it running. His mechanic shop led him to meet his future wife a year later. The pair soon became an item and married after three years of dating and had their first child, Leonardo, a year later and their second child, Claudia, two years after him.

Alessandro was very much a doting father, pampering his kids with love and affection whenever possible and occasionally with gifts, he struggled to afford. Working and managing his own business often made him return late in the evenings, though he'd still work up enough energy to play with kids and spend quality time with his wife after his tiring days. Alessandro had a weekly tradition every Friday of going past 'Rosie's Market' on his way home from work. He had begun doing this after their first year together. He'd always buy a bunch of red roses for his wife, and later on, as the years went by, he'd also get a pint of ice cream for his kids.

Alessandro had closed shop at 8PM, later than usual. His wife had called him before he left and told him not to worry about going past the store and just to come home as it was late. Alessandro usually always listened to his wife but did not want to skip out on his tradition.

Alessandro greeted the owner, Rosie, who had already prepared the items for him. Alessandro had paid and grabbed his things, ready to leave but was stopped by two masked men who ran into the store with guns demanding the cash from the register. As one man held a gun at Rosie, who was frantically grabbing the money out of the register, the other pointed his weapon at Alessandro. He demanded Alessandro hand over his wallet. With one hand holding the bunch of roses and the plastic bag containing the ice cream, he used the other to reach into his back pocket to pull out his wallet. As he reached out his hand to cautiously give it to the armed man, the ringtone of his phone made the man jump and unintentionally fire two shots at Alessandro's chest. The two gunmen, not intending to kill anyone, panicked and frantically took all the money they could before running off.

Alessandro lay on the ground in a pool of his own blood as Rosie frantically dialled 911. "My... Wi-f-e... Le-o... Cla-uds..."

The pool of his own blood grew as he began coughing up the liquid. The flowers and ice cream hazardously spread on the side of his body, and his wallet remained on the floor with a picture that fell out, facing up beside it. The photo of his wife, kids, and himself.
