I released the arrow. It flew swiftly and hit the center, bullseye, for the tenth time today, gods this was boring, nothing interesting ever happened here in the small town of maple-grove.
I whiped the sweat off my brow, pushing my long white hair out of my face. I loaded my bow again and aimed, then with a deep breathe, letting the arrow fly, it hit the first arrow and split it right down the middle.
"Good job arrow boy" I jumped and turned to see my sister, Serena. Her long white hair was braided down her back, her purple eyes shining with a teasing light.
Serena is the best sister in the world. She cool, sarcastic, and she teases me on a regular basis, but she's always there for me. My sister looks a lot like me, but I don't see it. Our only similarities are our hair color and skin tone. My sister is at least a half foot taller than me, she's slender, and she always keeps her silky white hair in a braid. Plus, I have blue eyes, and hers are a violent shade of violet. And my sister's a mage, not an archer, like me.
Actually, before all of this begins. I think I should explain the different specialties and races.
Ok so there are four races, the elves, the goblins, the pixies, and the humans. Each of us are allied, but some dislike each other. Like pixies and goblins hate each other, and we hate the humans. Goblins and humans get along nicely, but that's understandable. Elves and pixies get along, but pixies don't concern themselves with anything but play and fun.
Then there are the specialties. like mage, worrier, archer, and miner. Each person gets to chose one when they reach the age of 4. Some races are better at specialties than others, like, elves are better archers and mages, while goblins are better miners and worriers.
Enough with details, let's get on with the story, oh, we're was I, ah yes, my sister had just walking in on me doing my morning archer practice.
"What do you want Serena?" I growled.
"It's time for breakfast grumpy, and keep up that archery work and you'll split all of your arrows." My sister told me airily.
I rolled my eyes and gave a small laugh.
I fallowed Serena to our house. It was small house, carved into the roots of the anormous tree in our village. The tree root curved up and had a rug curtain hanging from the top.
I pulled back the curtain to reveal a set of stone steps carved into the earth. The other Side of the root was covered in mound.
Me and my sister walked down the steps into the main hall. It was a damp earthy room, decorated with rugs and earthy colored tapestries. there were carpet drapes infront of the square door ways.
"Come on little bro, let's eat" Serena pulled back the drape and we walked into the kitchen.
"What the" I whispered when we entered the room, because standing in our kitchen was a man, he wore the purple silk robes with gold trimming of a council member. "mister Orion, I am counsel member luten. to please excuse me but may I talk to you and your sister for a moment?"
~
"What do you mean Orion has to leave? He hasn't done anything wrong!!!" Serena shrieked" I put my hand on her shoulder. The counsel man shook his head.
"Miss, I am afraid you have misunderstood me, I am perfectly aware that your brother hasn't done a think wrong, but he has to on a journey, like in the prophecy"
"But why him? Find someone else then why does it have to be him!" Serena never looked so mad before.
"Serena stop, it's fine, if that's what I have do, then I'll have to go" I said to my older sister
"No Orion, please don't go, it doesn't have to be you, make them find someone else!!" Now Serena was crying, but I hugs her.
"I'm sorry, but I have to go, it's In the prophecy." She sniffed and nodded.
I went and packed. filling a satchel.
I met them out at the front of the house.
"Come back to me alive ok arrow boy" my sister ruffled my hair and sniffed.
I hugged my sister goodbye.
I hopped on the horse and waved goodbye to my sister as I rode of to the edge of the town.
I was going to miss this place, but somehow I knew that this adventure was going to be a new life, and I was kind of exited to finally find some adventure.
