Day Long Shopping

After eating breakfast, Mom insisted that we take Thomas with us to Diagon Alley. She and Dad had a meeting to attend on a case of missing children.

I wasn't pleased to hear this. I rarely spend any time with my parents. I guess, I'll let it go just this once.

I was wearing my blue sundress Mom and Dad picked for me. White slippers, a white headband and a golden heart necklace with my brothers one one side and mommy and daddy on the other in it.

Quickly pulling on my wrap, I held onto Edward's hand. We were both going to transport to the Alley through the fireplace.

I watched him closely as he grabed a hand full of the powder and yelled 'Diagon Alley' and threw the powder down to our feet.

After a moment of stretching and the whirling about, we stood in the middle of a street full with different stores.

The building looked funny. It looked as if it were growing.

Eddie must have seen my wonder because he explained, "Since there is always a damand for space, they add to the buildings. Somesay it looks like it's growing before their eyes." He laughed when he saw my lips form an 'O'.

Just then Oli poofed behind us. Then George, Fred and Thomas. In that order btw.

Thomas gave us all our lists of supplies. "Now you all have your Ever satchels? Good. Remember, you are to put your things in them. So as not to carry such weight. The bag can do that for you. Now Oliver, Frederick, George and Elizabeth you four can get started with your shopping. Meet Edward and I at The Three Broomsticks when you're finished. Edward and I will finish up some errands while you are out. Go now."

With that we all went two different directions.

"Look at the lists of things we need, Freddy, I'm not sure where to begin." George said, looking around at all the shops.

"Let's just start on our books. Potions: A History Study Textbook, Herbology Volume I and II, Spells of Word, and Fortune by Gwen Stines." Fred gave as we stepped into the book store.

I went to the potions section to grab four Potions:A History books. I searched the aisle only to see that it's on the top shelf.

Great, that's just perfect. I know there is no way I'm getting that down!

I stretch my arm as far as possible. I stepped on the lower shelves to get closer. I loose my balance and start to make a grab for something but nothings there. I brace myself for the impact. Only to be caught by a man.

When he put me down, his eyes widened. He had long pale blond hair, grey icy eyes, all black clothes and a harsh face as if all he does is scowl. I must have been a real suprise for him to look so shocked.

He furrowed his brows, "Watch what you're doing, child. Don't want you getting hurt, now do we?" He asked slowly, as if thinking of what to say.

"No, sir." I answered him. "Thank you for your help. I hate to keep you but may you, please, grab four of those books?" He was tall, so I might as well use him.

He looked at them and pulled them off the shelves. Handing them to me he saw that the copies were meant for students who attend Hogwarts. "You are going to Hogwarts, correct? That is a lovely school. Oh, where are my manners? I am Lucious Malfoy, pleasure to meet you." He bowed and held my hand.

Uncomfortably, I curtsed. "I am Elizabeth Grey. It was nice meeting you, but I must go back to my friends."

I walked away knowing I shouldn't have told him my name. Or even spoken to this stranger, but I feel like I've heard his voice before. I just can't put my finger on it.

As I looked up, I saw Oliver with the herbs books, Freddy with spellbooks and Geo with the fortune books.

I headed for them and we paid for our them.

Next we went to Fray's Fashion for our robes. They seemed so boring. Thick ropes for cold season and thin for warm, though they were all made of wool. We will be getting our house colors when we've been sorted at Hogwarts.

Then we bought our pets. I took the most time choosing. A cat is fluffy and cute. But it doesn't do anything. A frog would be cool but it jumps about and could get lost. A rat was out of the question. I hate the way they look, as if they will jump on you and eat you. I finally picked Raman, an owl. He was white with brown flecks on his back and black horizontal lines coming around from his back to his sides. His wings had a mix of brown, black and grey.

Raman's grey yellow eyes looked ready to kill, but when he saw me he put on the cutest face and flew his way to me. I just couldn't resist him.

Freddy and George had gotten twin grey owls, fitting don't you think? Oliver has a gerbal. He is so cute! Oli named him Chesse Puff. I have no idea why. Puff isn't even orange. Or puffy.

The last of our things were to get one conjuring pot for potions and flasks to put them in. Paper and as many quills you felt was needed. A notebook journal to put our notes in and flash mesangers.

I love to use flash messagers. It's a type of paper that you write a note on, speak the name of a person, rip it out the pad to toss it in the air and it'll burn away. The message will instantly go to the person you called out to.

At our last stop we reached Ollivander's: Makers of Fine Wands.

The boys went up to Ollivander and asked for wands. I'll ask last, I'm exhausted.

Oliver has gotten his wand in the first try. A tan 12inch wand made of Harrison trees. Harrison trees are the short tempered trees that throw apples at you,.only if you step too close.

Freddy gotten his first try too. 11inches of unicorn hair and frog heart strings.

George got his first as well. 13inches of some ancient rock and river spirits hair.

Ollivander was going to close the store when he then saw me sitting on.the chair by the door. He quickly ran to the back room and came back with five boxes.

The first wand I tried didn't do anything.

The second wand burned the box it was from.

The third wand blew all the other boxes on the shelves off.

The fourth pulled Freddy's pants down. Oops.

I was almost scared to try the last wand. When Ollivander insisted I flicked my wrist with my eyes closed, afraid of what it did now.

I heard shuffling and a gasp so I opened my eyes again.

Everything was being cleaned up.

I looked at Ollivander, hoping to see look at how clean the room was but he was looking strait at me.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked him.

"No no no, my dear. You have shown greatness. You see, the brother of that wand belongs to the head master of Hogwarts. Some say he is the greatest wizard of all time. And you have the same wand as that man." I knew instantly that the man was Dumbledore.

"You mum and dad would want to know this as soon as possible. Go, now, go!"

Let's just say we walked away with a big smile.

That's all for now, folks. Vote, comment and share.
