Chapter 3- The New Year

On New Year's Eve...

*Hui-Do, Yu Rim, Seung Wan, Ji Woon & Yi Hyun gather at a restaurant for lunch. Yi Hyun seemed loveable and kind. He was polite and talked formally to Seung Wan's friends. *

*Ji Woon was staring at Yi Hyun*

Ji Woon- "Hey Seung Wan, tell me the truth. Did you threaten him to be your boyfriend?"

*Seung Wan gazed fiercely at Ji Woon*

Ji Woon-"Yi Hyun, did she know your secret and blackmail you about revealing it to your brother? Don't worry bro, just tell me. I'm like a brother to Baek Yi Jin too. I will help you out."

*Seung Wan smashes her fist on the table*

SW- "Hey Ji Woon, you want to die? you got death wish, eh?"

JW- " No Seung Wana, I'm really worried about this poor kid."

YH-" No brother, I really like Seung Wan. I am her number one fan. I was in love with her ever since I heard her private radio. She really motivated me, inspired me and helped me become a better person. I feel really blessed to have her in my life now."

*Seung Wan looking at Yi Hyun with her affectionate eyes glued at him*

Hui Do & Yu Rim (together)- " Awww. "

Hui Do- "I am so proud of you Seung Wana. You must've inspired many such kids back then."

Yu Rim-"Yes Seung Wan, you are so cool."

*Seung Wan smiles widely mocking Ji Woon. *

Later that night...

*Hui Do goes to the hilly area where Baek Yi-Jin and she had spent their New Years. As she reaches the place, she notices Yi Jin sitting in his work suit gazing at the city's view from that hilly area. She stands still for a couple minutes gathering her courage to walk towards him. *

*In the meantime, Yi Jin turns back, and notices Hui Do who was staring at him with her hands in the pockets of her long furry coat. 

Yi Jin (in an excited tone) -"Na Hui Doa!!"

*Hui Do smiles as she slowly approaches Yi Jin and sits next to him. *

Hui Do- "Hi, how you been?"

YJ (laughs)- "That is so formal Hui Do. But yeah, I am good. How are you?"

HD-" I am good too. So, no work today?"

YJ-"I am done with the work. I just arrived. If there is any flash news, they do have a backup."

HD-"Oh, that's nice."

*Silence accompanies them for a few minutes. *

YJ & HD (together)-"So, then?"

*The two smiled widely and laughed*

YJ-"So, you still visit here every New Year?"

*Hui Do places her hand on her right cheek and nods her head in agreement. *

YJ-"You know, I have always missed this place on New Year's while I was in the US. I did miss you, I missed my family, I missed Korean food, I missed Korea." 

*Hui Do quietly listening to Yi Jin without interrupting him. *

YJ-" So, am I the only one who is supposed to do the talking?" (smiles)

HD-"To be honest, there were times when I missed you too."

YJ (smiles)- "I am happy to see you grow, act matured, chasing dreams, winning medals. Nice."

HD- "I am happy to see you excel too. Promoted as an anchor. Nice. How is it lately? It must be hectic."

YJ-"Hectic, yes. But this has helped me bring my family back together under one roof and that eases my heart. Yi Hyun is all grown up now. Parents are healthy and happy. So, I have less to worry about." 

HD (smiles)- "Good to hear that. Yi Hyun is a well-behaved child. I met him in the noon."

YJ- "Oh yeah, I forgot he now has a girlfriend. Right?"

*Both chuckles*

HD-"Yes yes. I was surprised to see them together, but I am happy for them. Seung Wan finally gets her guy."

YJ-"Oh, don't get me started on that. I was right front of them witnessing their confessions while they ignored my existence."

HD- "You came that night?"

YJ-"Yes, I did. I came thinking I could meet you all as we never gathered in years but heard you guys had left by then."

HD-"Huh sorry, I had some work to catch up with, so I had to leave."

YJ-"Yeah, I get it. I was late too."

*Both smile*

YJ- "So, when is it?"

HD-"When is what?"

YJ-"Your wedding."

*Firecrackers starts to glitter in the sky. Both start gazing at the sky, hugs each other (without realizing) to wish. *

(Both together)-" Happy New Year."
