*Jinx's pov

I walked to Silco's office. He wasn't there when I came in. I walked over to the big window, overlooking the undercity. I looked down and saw y/n walking with Silco. He was talking to her about something. I narrowed my eyes at the pair. I could feel myself getting jealous at the sight of them being so close.

When Silco came in, he was alone. I heard him sigh as he threw down his coat and slumped into his chair. He grabbed his eyepointer and began putting it together.

"Help me with his," he said quietly. I let myself down from the rafters and sat on his desk, grabbing the thing from his hand. He looked at me.

"You could tilt you're head up for me," I snapped. I grabbed his head and moved it backward, positioning the eyepointer and injecting it. Silco hissed slightly, as the purple liquid dripped down his skin. h breathed heavily as he glared at me.

"What's on you're mind?" he asked. I scoffed and turned away from him. "Don't turn away from me. You are angered by something so spit it out," he said bluntly.

"How's your new girlfriend?" I said sarcastically.

"What are you on about?" he said as he walked to his cabinet and began to pour himself a drink.

"You and y/n have gotten close suddenly," I said glaring at him. He turned around, leaning against the cabinet, swirling his drink around the glass.

"I can assure you that nothing like that is occurring," he mumurred. "I'm helping her. like I helped you."

"But she doesn't need help, She's fine," I whined. I knew I sounded like a child but I was stressed. He came towards me, leaning down to my level. I looked at him.

"When I found you all those years ago, you were weak. You could barely fend for yourself. But I guided you and now you are so much more than I, anyone could have ever imagined." He paused, taking a drink. "Though y/n is stronger than you were when I first found you and has lived for so long on her own, she now needs my guidance as you did. Would you have appreciated someone stopping me from taking you in? Where would you be now?"

I sighed. "Dead in a ditch somewhere."

"Precisely. She's ill. Unfed. Damaged. Her life has been difficult these past few years and I can't help but feel that I am the cause of her suffering. I killed her guardian at a very young age. I must do this for her good. If I send her away now, I don't believe she will live another year. Now I know I'm not a very merciful person but this girl has potential if she has the right support. She could help what we have been working for, my life's work."

I looked at Silco. I didn't want y/n to die on the streets. I wanted her to be safe and in my life. I had missed a lot but my jealousy was blinding me. I still had a worry she would take my place.

"I used to know y/n. When we were kids," I muttered. He nodded.

"Did you miss her?" he asked gently.

"For years I wondered what had happened to her and if she was ok. She was like... a sister to me." I grimaced at the word, 'sister'. Silco embraced me, the smell of cigars and vodka engulfing me too. I hugged back tightly. He always knew how to calm me. He made me feel ok.

"It's ok Jinx. I will never leave you. You are my daughter and I love you." He let go of me. "But we have to accept a new person to this little family of ours. Another broken one." I nodded. I was happy for y/n to be in our family.

"And a little upside. She hates Sevika," he smirked. I laughed.

"I know. She gives Sevika more of a hard time than I do." he let out a laugh.

"Alright, get out. I have work to do" he said walking around his desk. I hopped off his desk and walked away from him. Cool. A new family member.

Hi. So it's been 8 months since I've been on Wattpad. The wifi wouldn't let me access it anymore so I couldn't write anymore but we've changed our broadband user so I can continue writing my story. Enjoy :]
