I Was Taught...

I was taught,
To love at a young age,
My brother got a girl pregnant at 16,
He left it for someone else to rase,
My sister was pregnant at 15,
But she miss carried in May.

I was taught,
To be me at a young age,
I thought I wasn't worth it,
So I let a boy have it,
I fell into darkness into sin,
Now I'm pregnant oh no.

I was taught,
To own my own at a young age,
So I'll have the baby,
With or without him,
Because God gave me this life,
And with him all things are possible.

I was taught,
That I'll make it at a young age,
I'll work for the two of us,
With a little help,
I know I'll make it,
I have to no matter what.

I was taught,
You only get one life,
So live it up to the best,
And so here I go with baby in toe,
When it gets hard God will be there,
Rain or shine God will never let me down.

I was taught,
To love at a young age,
To own my own at a young age,
That I'll make it at a young age,
And that you only get one life,
I was taught.
