I hardly slept,
if I did I dreamt of our dance,
what kind it was, I don't know,
how it started, I'm not sure
but not today.
Today,
I avoid your eyes and free my soul,
I giggle and break from your infectious laugh,
I speak and refuse to be lured by your voice.
Today I fail,
I fail to ignore you, for as you stand there my mind curses my eyes for having looked at you.
My eyes curse my heart for being excited,
and as you come closer speaking,
you steal my mind and hold it hostage.
and as you depart I'm trapped.
Trapped on the dance floor with a stranger.
