"Miss Mitchell, this process will be a lot more easier if you just cooperate with us," Deputy Shoupe said once again.

Again, Elliot didn't reply, she just sat in her chair, bobbing her leg up and down nervously, biting at her finger nails.

"How did you get the bruises that are around your neck?"

"Hair curlers," Elliot mumbled, still staring at the floor.

"And are these hair curlers in the shape of a hand?"

Elliot wanted the ground to swallow her whole.

"Miss Mitchell, we want to help you. We know, that you know Rafe Cameron is guilty of something. You're trying to protect him, I understand. But between me and you Miss Mitchell," Shoupe crouched down in front of her so she was finally looking at him, "Someone who loves you, would not put their hands on you like that"

Elliot wiped a fallen tear away with her jacket sleeve.

"You have no idea what you're talking about. This is crazy. I know nothing. Now please let me go home," she dismissed.

Shoupe sighed before standing back up again.

"An innocent woman was murdered Miss Mitchell. A woman that wanted to help you too. The longer you keep this to yourself, the bigger the consequences will get"

"I've told you. I know nothing"

Shoupe knew he wasn't going to get any information from the teenager. She had her loyalties but unfortunately they were to the wrong person. Sheriff Peterkin had spent the past year trying to help out the young girl, not knowing that the person she was trying to save her from would be the one to prevent her from ever helping anyone again.

"You're free to go. When you decide to do the right thing, you know where I am," Shoupe dismissed her.

Elliot immediately got up from her seat and left the room, getting out of there as quick as possible.

"It's been three fucking hours, where the fuck is she?!" Rafe paced up and down his dad's office.

"For the 1000th fucking time Rafe, I DON'T KNOW," Ward shouted, "You only have yourself to blame. If she gets us in shit, I swear to God, we are done"

Ward stormed out of the office, slamming the door behind him, leaving Rafe to dwell in his ever growing thoughts. However, they were interrupted when his phone began to ring. He picked it up immediately and when he saw who it was he answered right away.

"Where the fuck are you?" Rafe snapped.

"I'm outside," he heard her sob.

He hung up the phone and rushed to the door. He opened it to find his girlfriend who looked distraught.

"Rafe," she trembled, reaching out for him but he tensed when she wrapped her arms around him.

"Why the fuck are you crying? What did they say? What did you tell them?" he demanded, grabbing her shoulders and pulling her off of him, "I swear to fuck Elliot, if you said a single word about..."

"Rafe I swear, I didn't tell them anything, I swear to you," Elliot told him the truth.

"It doesn't take 3 hours to say fucking nothing Elliot! Bet you were running your mouth in there, telling them everything. You did didn't you?"

"You know I would never do that to you Rafe"

"TELL ME THE TRUTH," he screamed, shoving her against the nearest wall, pinning her arms to it harshly, "After all the shit I've done for you I swear to God you better be telling me the truth"

"Rafe you're hurting me," she sobbed.

"I couldn't give a fuck right now Elliot, what did you say to them?" he questioned, grabbing her wrists tighter.

After all the things she had done for him and how much shit she had coped with just to be with him, it was then, when she looked into his eyes that she saw nothing but hatred. There was no love there, right in that moment, he didn't care that he was hurting her. All he cared about was if she snitched on him which he should have known she would never do. Sheriff Peterkin was right, Rafe didn't love her, this wasn't love. And Elliot needed to get away.

"I'm done," she said almost too calmly and it caught him off guard, causing him to loosen his grip.

"What?"

"I'm done Rafe. I'm done lying for you, I'm done doing everything for you and getting nothing in return, I'm done giving my life to you only for you to throw it in my face. I'm done with you," Elliot finally stuck up for herself, shoving him hard enough for her to get away from his grasp.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Rafe attempted to grab her again but she jumped away from him.

"Don't you dare touch me," she warned, "I've saved your life way too many times Rafe Cameron. It's time that I save mine"
