"Oh come on it'll be fun," Laurie tried persuading her best friend for the 1000th time that day. 

"Why can't we just stay in and watch Netflix or some shit?" 

"Because I want you to meet Kelce and his friends. Pleaseeeeeee" 

"Ugh fine," Elliot rolled her eyes, eventually giving up. 

"Yay! We are gonna have so much fun. And who knows, you might finally get laid," she joked. 

"I really don't like you sometimes" 

"You love me!"

Elliot Mitchell, a girl who grew up on the less fortunate side of the island but had moved to the more privileged side after her fathers business had grew rapidly in a short space of time. Shy around new people, but a joker around her friends, Elliot had a certain charm about her that had caused plenty of heartbreaks. 

Laurie had been her neighbour when Elliot and her parents had moved to Figure 8, they got along instantly and became best friends within a few days. Life in Figure 8 was significantly different to life in the cut, Elliot made sure she never took it for granted. Laurie was more outgoing and went to every Kook party that there was. That was how she had met her boyfriend, Kelce. And now she was trying to get Elliot to go with her. 

"You look amazing," Laurie complimented her best friend as she entered the room. 

"This thing is way too short," Elliot huffed, trying to pull the dress down as far as she could. 

"That's how it's supposed to be silly! Come on, we are gonna be late" 

Laurie grabbed her friends arm and practically dragged her out of the house so they could get to the party that wasn't far from Elliot's house. 

Once they arrived, Elliot immediately regretted her decision. A place full of stuck up Kooks that love nothing but themselves, she couldn't think of anywhere worse to be. 

Laurie directed her through the house and straight over to where the drinks were, almost like she had been here a thousand times before. 

"Get this down you," Laurie said handing her a red cup with God knows what liquid inside. 

Instead of arguing, Elliot took the drink and downed it one, figuring she'd need a little dutch courage to get her through the night surrounded by people she didn't like. 

"Hey baby," she heard a guy say, who then wrapped his arm around Laurie and kissed her making her cringe. 

"Kelce! Was just gonna look for you, I missed you" 

"Missed you too baby, guessing this is Elliot," Kelce nodded in Elliot's direction. 

"Elliot, meet Kelce. Kelce, meet Elliot," Laurie introduced. 

"Nice to meet you, heard lots of great things about you," he smiled at her. 

"Likewise, she never stops talking about you"
