Hualian AU Xtraz ~ Hua Cheng's Birthday

Part 3

He knew San Lang would be home, and he was close, so he texted him to say he was coming over, and then kept googling furiously on the bus, walking on the street, even after arriving at San Lang's. He felt bad.

"Sorry San Lang. It's an assignment I had forgotten about, so I have to come up with something last minute", he said. When you lie, don't explain it too much, he thought to himself.

"Oh? Do you want some help Gege?", Hua Cheng asked, dragging himself from where he was laying down on the sofa, resting his head on Xie Lian's lap, hugging him around the waist. He was sitting too far away anyway. Xie Lian just left his phone on the sofa arm.

"Nah it's just one of these marketing assignments. You know, about consumer' dreams", he said, having a sudden idea, and started to play with Hua Cheng's hair. He knew Hua Cheng felt quite relaxed when he did that, lowering his guard. He kept passing his fingers through his black hair.

"Say San Lang, what's your consumer' dream, what would you want if, if you got a prize on amazon or something?", he asked; Xie Lian could be that cunning.

"My consumer's dream? You mean something I want? Why are you asking that?", Hua Cheng replied. Shit, he must know now! We need a distraction...

"I think", Xie Lian said getting up, pushing him up on the sofa, and sitting on top of him, "I know what you want...", tooking his t-shirt off with a naughty smile.

Hua Cheng couldn't disagree with that.

He couldn't sleep at night, thinking of Hua Cheng's birthday present while Hua Cheng himself slept peacefully by his side, a heavy arm across his waist. Never in his life did he suffer such distress and he was almost having a fit, seeing the daylight slowly seeping through the door crack, when he had an idea. Finally!

He turned to look at San Lang, breathing softly on his sleep; his messy black hair as a frame for his handsome face, his perfect white skin; even with his eyes closed he looked stunning with his long lashes and beautiful eyebrows. Xie Lian would do anything for him, and San Lang deserved it.

He sighed, feeling his eyes burning and his neck and shoulders tense with the lack of sleep, and stretched; he decided to get up and hit the shops; no time to buy online, the birthday was tomorrow! He slowly shifted the covers aside, when Hua Cheng's arm around his waist tightened his grip. He was awake!

"Where are you going this early?", he mumbled by Xie Lian's ear.

"Oh, good morning San Lang, I, I have so many things to do. Better if I get it done and over with..."

"It's too early Gege, stay with me in bed a little longer..." Fuck, that sexy sleepy voice.

"I-I-I can't... I'm seriously stretched for time...", Xie Lian replied, his resolve dangerously weakening.

"It's nice to stay in bed together", San Lang said softly, "You don't think so Gege?"

Xie Lian gritted his teeth, trying to ignore those goosebumps he was feeling; he'd need to be at the city centre first thing, he still wasn't sure where to go, and today was his last chance. He couldn't risk not to have that perfect present for his San Lang on his birthday. He tapped on San Lang's arm,

"I really need to go. I'll call you when I finish my things, so I'll drop by later on, or tomorrow".

San Lang removed his arm, releasing him, and smiled teasingly, "Alright".

That smile alone showed he knew Xie Lian was up to something; Xie Lian got up and left the room as quickly as he could, before he changed his mind.

Hua Cheng opened the door to Xie Lian, who held flowers, a big box and a huge luxury retail bag. How come he was there, Xie Lian wasn't a morning person and it wasn't even 7am!

"Morning!", he gave a big smile, and, dropping everything he had on the table, gave Hua Cheng a tight hug and a long lingering kiss, before whispering, "Happy birthday San Lang".

Hua Cheng pffted a laugh, "Gege, what's all that?"

Xie Lian gave him flowers – red, his favourite colour –, then opened the box with the cake he had baked himself: a nude sponge cake, with cream and strawberries in the middle and on its top. Last but not least, he handed Hua Cheng the bag: the birthday present, bought after so much blood, sweat and tears.

"Who told you it was my birthday?", Hua Cheng asked, "I don't really care about it but since Gege is willing to celebrate with me..." he chuckled, hugging Xie Lian and meaning to drag him to his bedroom.

"Not now San Lang, I've got classes all day", he said, pushing Hua Cheng away playfully. "Open your present!"

"Alright", Hua Cheng said with a smile; inside that bag there was a colourful, glossy and fancy-looking box. "What's that?", he asked, opening it. There were stylish pots and tubes.

"Well", Xie Lian replied, very pleased at himself, "It's a super premium Korean skincare set. This", he caressed Hua Cheng's face, "deserves nothing but the best!"

Hua Cheng smiled, tilting his face, letting it be caressed, "Gege, why would you spend money on me like that?"

"I can't think of anything better to splash my cash on", Xie Lian replied, "You're always saying you feel your skin dry and itchy sometimes don't you? So, I want it to feel as good as it looks...", he concluded, giving Hua Cheng several little kisses on his face.

"If you're gonna kiss me like this all the time", he chuckled, hugging Xie Lian around the waist, "Alright, gimme all Korean skincare you've got".

"San Lang, I have classes", Xie Lian said, "I'll be back after uni and we can go to Gamblers' Den, to celebrate your birthday".

"Gamblers' Den? Why don't we celebrate here, just you and me?", Hua Cheng asked into Xie Lian's ear, biting his earlobe slowly.

"I texted everyone already", Xie Lian replied, laughing and pushing Hua Cheng away again, "We can celebrate just the two of us after. Alright?"

"Hum, if Gege insists", he replied, letting go of Xie Lian, "Then I'll dress to impress and put my Korean skincare on tonight", he smiled and winked. He already looked like a model, Xie Lian thought.

"Right", Xie Lian gave him a last kiss, before going out, "I'll come by 7 then".

Hualian birthday cuteness is hard to beat! 😉
