"No, no...hindi 'to pwede." Sabi ko as I started pacing while pulling my hair in frustration.
Inayos na ni Atty. yung papers at binalik sa briefcase niya.
"There must be a mistake, Atty. Maybe that girl manipulated my mom! Baka basta basta nalang napa-pirma si mama without knowing kung anong pinipirmahan niya kaya sakanya iniwan lahat!"
"Your mom made her last will months before her death. She was still completely fine at the time she made all the conditions and signed all the papers, Mr. Martinez. I have documentation as proof."
Pinakitaan ako ni Atty. ng pictures ni mama na nakikipag usap sakanya, nagsusulat at pumipirma. My mom was indeed in a good state at that time, and she looked like she was really sure of what she was doing.
"I understand your frustration, Mr. Martinez. But I can assure you, there's no mistake or manipulation here."
"Fuck!!!!" Sigaw ko as I took the glass of orange juice on the table and threw it to a wall. Muntik pang tamaan yung katulong na dumaan, buti nakailag.
"Wala na bang paraan para mabago to?"
"Unless your mom comes back to life and comes to my office saying she wants to change it, there's no other way, Mr. Martinez. I'm sorry, but I know your mom has her reasons."
Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin. Dapat yata sakanya ko binato yung baso eh.
Nakita kong nagkukumpulan sa may sala yung driver at mga katulong, each holding a piece of paper and a cheque. Nakita ni Atty na nakatingin ako sakanila kaya nagpaliwanag siya.
"They already got their shares. I'm actually on my way to the bank to transfer the shares your mom left to the charities."
"Where's mine?"
"You'll have it by next week."
"What? Mag aantay pa ako? Bakit nauna pa yung driver at mga katulong?!"
"I'm just following your mom's instructions, Mr. Martinez. I'll see you next week." After locking his briefcase and giving me a nod, umalis na si Atty.
I went straight to my room to check the luggage kung saan nakalagay yung pera ko. Estimate ko, I only have less than 500K left.
"Fucking shit." My inheritance better be ready by next week! Struggle na nga na 5M lang iniwan ni mama, struggle pa kung pano ko pagkakasyahin ang less than 500K ng isang linggo.
I looked at mama's photo on my side table. "Grabe ka naman, mama."
Ang konti na nga ng iniwan sakin, ako pa yung pinahuli. The driver, the maids and the charities were prioritized.
I took out my phone from my pocket and transferred 50K to a private investigator, then I called him.
[Phone Call]
"Nakuha ko na boss. Anong gagawin?"
"Find that girl."
