Chapter 6

It was now nightfall. You, Taye, and Louis were on your way to see Mama Odie. You both were resting on Louis while looking out for anything interesting. "Now, This restaurant of yours, Is it going to have etouffee?" Louis asked while gliding slowly in the water. 

"Jambalaya, Gumbo. It's going to have it all" Louis hummed in delight at the list of foods. "I've always wanted to try beans and rice, Muffulettas, Po' boys" With the number of foods Louis was listing, You got a bit hungry yourself. "Stop, Louis. You two are making me very hungry"

As in cue, Flies flew in the air as a group past you. 

You looked towards it when your mouth flew open with your tongue sticking out. "Hm? Interesting" You then dived in the water, making Taye question "What are you doing?" You slowly got up, Being careful not to scare the flies away. 

"Shh! You're frightening the food" You said softly, You released your tongue into the air and failed miserably, Which ended up all around your green face. You shivered at the thought of you being a frog again.

You shook your head, looking at the group of flies "This is harder than it looks" You quickly stood up and stuck your tongue out, Only for a branch to come flying back into your mouth. 

You groan in pain as the branch was large and heavy, making you fall. Taye chuckled at your attempt Until he looked at a firefly and let his tongue go.

"What? Oh, no. No, no, no! There is no way I'm kissing a frog and eating a bug on the same day-" He was cut off by his tongue leaping out of his mouth.

You finally pushed the thick branch out of your mouth and spat out the remaining bark out. You looked up to see the same firefly Taye was aiming for. 

You waited until the right time to shoot. Just then you let your tongue go, Only for it to be tangled by someone else's. Your body was suddenly pulled and felt a rush. You ended up being face to face with Taye. "Hello" You said.

Taye got up and tried moving "Hold still!" He made you stand up "Stop moving! You're making this difficult!" Your voices were muffled due to your tongue situation. 

Suddenly, Louis came in from the bushes "Y'all find anything to eat yet! Oh. My" He saw your problem and thought he would be able to fix it "Hang on. Old Lois got it covered" He twisted and pulled you both making the situation even worse.

He felt content with his masterpiece "How's that?" The silence was painful. "This could be a little better" Taye said. "You know what this needs? A sharp stick! Be right back" He ran back into the bushes, finding his stick. 

Taye sighed in irritation and spoke "This is all your fault" You rolled your eyes at him "All my fault? Let me tell you something. I was having a wonderful time!" You both kept bickering at each other, Not noticing the same firefly come down and look at the both of you.

"Well, Looky here!" He flew down and looked at your situation "Boy. I guess you and your girlfriend got a little carried away. Am I right?" He was suddenly bombarded with both of your complaints. He flew near you as his light started to shine. 

He looked towards you again "You done this up real good, for sure, Now where this got you at?" He came a bit closer and started searching for an entrance. "Hang on Cap. I'm just going to give a little twist here"

You were suddenly pulled away from each other with the help of the unknown firefly. "It's about time I introduced myself. My name is Raymond but everyone calls me 'Ray' You pointed toward Ray "Pardon me, But your accent it's funny, no?" Ray looked at you and smirked "I'm a Cajun, Bruh. Born and raised in the bayou. Y'all must be new around here, Huh?"
