Chapter 7

You were all sitting around the warm pumpkin filled with delicious Gumbo, Telling jokes and whatnot. "Anyone for seconds?" Taye asked, looking around for responses.

You got up, in an attempt of answering, walking towards him and the big pumpkin "That was magnificent! You truly have a gift" You said while looking at him, putting the bowl in his hands, As he nervously gave you another bowl full of gumbo, "Why, Thank you" You both stared at each other when a gasp interrupted your little moment.

You both turn your heads to ray, As he looks up at the sky slowly flying "There she is. The sweetest firefly in all creation" You both hoped on a nearby lily pad, In hopes of finding who he was looking for "Evangeline?" Taye asked looking at ray.

"How can you miss her? She glowing right up there in front of y'all" Ray said, pointing to the wired star that was the only one shining brighter than any other, Literally.

You and Taye looked at each other, Confused about why he was pointing to a star. He flew towards it, As the both of you finally caught on to what he was talking about.

He was rambling on about how beautiful she was and how magnificent she was when Louis laughed "That ain't no fire-" "Shhhh!!" You placed a finger to your mouth, Indicating that he should shut his mouth. You then hear familiar french words coming out of rays mouth.

"Je Vous adore"
"I adore you"

"Je vous aime"
"I love you"

Your eyes were closed when you faced him, You then opened them to find Taye looking at you with a weird expression "I'm just translating!" He rolled his eyes and continued to listen to ray, You scoffed and did the same.

When listening to ray, You suddenly hear music from afar, A slow jazz song. You then smirked and grabbed Taye's hand while getting up.

You placed your hands on his shoulder and hand, when he suddenly pulled away, Embarrassed. "No. I don't dance", He then leapt to another lily pad, Not far from the first. He looked guilty that he pulled away, "I've never danced"

You smiled gently at him, You knew how that felt. He was just like you when your father asked you to dance, Well that was before he kicked you out. You saw a long vine attached to the lily pad he was on and pulled it, Startling him in the process.

You then grabbed his hand and pulled him up "If I can mince, You can dance" You pulled him into an easy position, Making him tumble and turn with every move you did. He tripped and stumbled but that didn't stop him from dancing.

He was starting to get the hang of it, Letting him take control. He twirled and dipped you making you smile at his moves. You looked at him while he did the same, Making the both of you lean into each other. But that was when you realized what was going on.

"Ah!" You awkwardly said, Grabbing his hands from your waist and placing them in front gently, He laughed nervously and held your hands a little longer, "Charles getting himself one heck of a dance partner" He said sadly looking at you regretfully, While you looked down, avoiding the gaze that belonged to him. "We best be pushing on" With that you leapt to another lily pad, leaving Taye all alone, Letting the events sync into his head

While you were leaving, You hadn't noticed the shadow of a hand snatch your leg, Causing you to scream in fear "Taye!!" Said boy looked at your fading form and shouted "Y/N!!" Your leg gets pulled tighter, making you wince and grab onto large branches, That all seemed to fail as you were still in the hands of shadows.

That wasn't until they all disappeared with a big ball of light, Letting you fall into the pond water, searching for the now gone shadow.

You gasped at the sudden shadow with what looked like a weapon, making you fear what was about to come when all of sudden an old woman with brown skin walked out of the fog with a large stick, black glasses and white clothing.
