chapter 7 pocahontas

Hi im pocahontas and this is my story. I grew up not listening to my father the chief. I explored the wind, sea, and earth. I lived a very open life, but then the english came and father warned everyone about the english. He said that they had came here before and tore down our land but we greeted them and played nice. A few days later while i was out i was startled my the captain john smith. He asked why i was away from my home.

Before i could answer he can with another question and another and another. I simply replied i like the out doors. He said i should be out there alone and walked off. I went to my father to see if he needed anything but when i got there he was telling everyone that the english attacked just a few minutes ago. I knew that was a lie bc john smith was with me but i couldnt say anything with betraying my fathers trust. After that we heard a loud boom. Everyone rushed and we were surprised to see the english were destroying the other tribes homes. My father marched down there arguing with john smith.

I was confused how all this happened and why. Father started walking back when john smith shot him in the back. I ran to father and all i seen was blood. John smith then started capturing my people. I tried to stay with father but they threw me into a cell. I was in there for 4 days until a young sea man let me out and hid me in the woods. Each day he brought me food and clothes. He told me his name was John rolfe. A few years later it was time to go to europe. He hid me in the ship and when we got to england he took me and we stayed together for a couple of years and i changed my name to Rebecca.

A couple of months later we got married and a few moths later we had 2 boys. Then a year after that i had a girl. 3 years after that i was living my life right and perfectly then a stranger came up to me and john and asked if i was pocahontas and i said yes but i changed it to rebecca. He stared and said you will pay for your troubles and walked off. What troubles? A week later a man came up to me and shot me. I feel unconsuious and thats all i remember.
