"Princess?" I woke up to the sound of a familiar voice. One which I haven't heard in a long time. "You awake?" The voice asked, coming cider closer to me.

I opened my eyes and allowed the tears to flow down freely on my face. Never have I ever thought this day would come. The day I'd see my mother once again.

"Mum?" I called, coughing, probably because I was crying. "Mum, you're here?" I asked.

"My love" she said, hugging me. "I'm here, always had, fine forever will". She said.

"I miss you.... where have you been?" I asked, crying into her chest.

"Chloe, I've been home". She whispered which made me move back from her and that's when I realized that I wasn't at home.

"Home?" I asked confused. "Mommy this isn't our home". I said, still confused.

"This isn't our home dear, it's my home". She told me.

"What do you mean mom?. How come you get to live somewhere else without us?".

"Baby... That's because you guys aren't meant to be here. At least not now". She whispered the last part to herself.

"So why am I here?" I asked.

"Well.. you aren't exactly here yet. You still have like a year before you finally come here". She said but continued when she saw the confusion on my face. "Take this as a tour". She finally said.

    "Where is this?".

"Like I said, it's my home princess" she replied.

"So why can't I stay?, I don't want to be without you anymore". I cried out.

"Chloe... You're not alone. You can't be with me now".

    "But why?" I asked.

"Because of them" She pointed to a small door that looked like it led to the streets of the road but it was in the room where I saw my friends, dad and Mary with some other school mates. "You have to go back to them".

"But I don't want to go... mummy I'm sick and will die soon, why can't I spend the rest of my time here in peace".

"Firstly, this isn't part of your time dear. Whatever you do here doesn't count there. What seems like seconds here is actually days, even weeks there. Take a look at them, they all want you back, don't tell me you are ready to leave them all just to stay with me in this empty place?" She asked, giving me a sad smile.

"But mum, that place is no fun. I can't do the things that makes me happy. They all don't care about me. I've been forgotten and neglected, it's of no use going back". I argued.

"You really think they don't care?. Look at how they all look, they look miserable. Even Jason who has been mean to you looks like he has been crying for weeks. Look at James, Chloe, see how broken he is. Not to talk of Lucas or Mary or even your father. They need you back, please princess don't be stubborn". My mum pleaded with me with tears and so much worry in her eyes.

"Mummy... I don't want to go back anymore because of them. They all look broken and I can't imagine how terrible they'll be when I'm finally gone". I said, looking into my mother's eyes.

"Then go and find out. Go and make the rest of your time with them special, let the time be filled with laughter and good memories. The good and happy memories they'll remember you of. Trust me, you don't want to make the same mistake I made. If I had this opportunity, I'd have stayed and played more with you all than keep thinking of me going. Then that way, your father wouldn't be as depressed as he is. I should have told him how much I loved him and told him to move on without me then maybe he wouldn't be so lonely right now. Yes, you won't be there for long but you should be there for the best".

"Mummy?" I called her while crying.

   "Yes baby" she answered.

   "I love you". I whimpered.

"I love you too and more baby. Would you go home for me at least?. I need time to decorate this place for you". She said, giving me a weak laugh which I joined in.

"OK mom.. But just so you know, I love the color pink. I want a pink room" I said, smiling.

"I know dear. I know all about you. Now it's time to go home". She said, helping me get up.

"It's time to go home". I repeated and moved to the door which was opened. "I'll miss you mummy" I said, going back to hug her.

"I'll always be with you dear". She said, hugging me back.

"Bye" We both said as I walked through the door.
