Epilogue

I did end up going to Knight School. Timothée was too needy to just let me go, and bought a small property on the island to stay with me. I'd been beyond glad. Spending too much time away from him hurt like cutting off a limb. In the end, it turned out we never spent a night apart after I'd confessed my feelings to him. Gwyneria ruled in our stead while we were away. As cousin to the King, she was the most worthy. Thankfully, Timothée and her had gotten over the awkwardness of having kissed, and he was happy to have some family around.

I took over as the head of the military forces, which meant I ruled over my father. No one even cried nepotism, because I trained them well. My father still only spoke to me if he absolutely had to. I didn't care. I'd given up hope of reconciliation. Right now, Amoret was my mother, Gwyneria was my sister, and Timothée was the love of my life. My found family was preferable to my real one. And my real one wasn't even my true birth family anyhow.

Juliet became head of Fae and Human relations, and we finally brokered a treaty. That hadn't been done in hundreds of years. Timothée made sure to celebrate his human side and his Fae side with the kingdom. Amoret was actually able to reform the Court of Torment. It was now known for its excellent female Fae warriors, just as Gadina had once desired. It was now the Court of Warriors. Those who showed no signs of reformation were jailed for the safety of others, and no longer surrounded by an echo chamber of cruelty.

Timothée and I were practically immortal, due to our fairy wish and lead the kingdom for many, many years. We had six children. Valkyrie Chalamet, Edmund Chalamet, twins, Rose and Petal Chalamet, Celestia Chalamet, and finally, Westley Chalamet. They were all wonderful, beautiful children, with Timothée's precious heart and soul, and my stubborn bravery. We treated them much better than either of our parents had treated us. Gilderoy was a much better grandfather than he had been a father. I knew this bothered Timothée sometimes, but in the end, he loved that his children had a doting family. My father had died in battle before I'd even had Valkyrie, so he never got to know them. I was a bit pleased, they'd be heart broken if he ignored them. Being a quarter Fae meant none of them really got powers, however, by some luck, Valkyrie did get wings, and that was why we named her so. Her wings were like a dragonfly's, and all the colors of green and blue imaginable. Timothée eventually was able to teach her to fly.

Valkyrie ended up falling in love with her best friend too. Amoret's daughter Blush. They were happily married at twenty, to one another.

Gwyneria married a Fae lord in her court, and named her only child, Gadina. Of course, due to how fairies age and reproduce, she didn't have her child until most of mine were grown.

Juliet and Katherine found other loves. Timothée arranged a ball so they could meet any eligible man they pleased, as an apology. Juliet ended up with Fae male, and Katherine with a serving boy, funnily enough.

Rose and Petal were like their father, and dreamed of being actors. They went to thespian school and traveled our kingdom preforming together.

Edmund was a shy, and pensive type. He was a mommas boy, and enjoyed staying with me as much as possible. Later in life, he told me he didn't feel like he really romantically loved or had sexual feelings for anyone, and felt content just enjoying the world. As a gift for sharing such a sweet secret with me, I gave him Butterfly Creek, and told him he could sit there and think, and dream to his hearts content.

Valkyrie had been like me, obsessed with swordplay, but she'd moved to live in the Court of Warriors with her wife. That's why I was overjoyed when Westley said he had an interest in bowmanship. I taught him all I knew, and he soon surpassed even me, but he still couldn't beat me with a sword. I used Daybreak primarily now, and Archangel hung over mine and Timothée's bed.

It was Celestia who really took an interest in ruling. We knew, generally, the oldest would receive the crown, but when we stepped down, we wanted someone that we knew cared. Celestia began being trained to be our successor. She was a natural, kind but firm, interested in the issues, good with the history. When we did step down, she was coronated as Queen.

Timothée and I were in bliss together. We never again had to fight like we had in life before. Our love only grew steadier and stronger. Over time our mental wounds dimmed as well, our love and life healing one another. We were just as touchy, just as obsessed, and just undeniably in love as we'd always been. It never faded. I didn't know how I'd lucked out. How had he been so devoted to someone who scorned him? How could I have scorned someone so devoted to me?

Many, many, many, years later, after Timothée and I had finished making love, first thing in the morning; he smiled and said, "You were right, as usual."

"What was I right about my love," I asked, pushing the hair lovingly from his sex reddened face. He placed a hand on my heart, and took one my hands to kiss.

"I never did wake up."
