On the edge of a river sat a small town. The town of Lundar was home to 68 people. The little village was surrounded by woods. It was made a longhouse for the families and small little shops around and a large field for training. Small gardens were in the center of the village. The dock was long with only three boats tied to the dock to keep from floating away.

The longhouses were all made so the bottom didn't touch the ground. Living in the north it was cold most days and the ground was frozen. Keeping the house from touching the cold ground, helped to keep the rooms warm. With snow-covered roofs and trees, the small village looked more like a winter wonderland than a little village from the North.

In the center of town was the grand hall. Large stone steps lead up to the front door. Two massive wood doors opened up into the main hall. Tables and benches lined both sides of the hall and in the center was a roaring fire. Hanging from the ceiling was metal chandeliers with candles lit, creating more light. Between the tables at the far end of the hall sat four thrones.

The largest throne sat in the middle. Two more thrones were on the right and the last throne was on the left. All four were draped in fur and jewels. They were made of a rich pine tree. The red blood color shined off the wood creating a red low glow.

To the left of the center throne, there was a small hallway. The hallway led to four different rooms and stairs leading up to another large rooms. The room was used by the chief and his family that lived in the grand hall. The chief and his family sat on their thrones.

Standing at six feet six, Chief Maddox Alfson was a big man. Short dark brown hair and light green eyes made up his handsome face. His strong arms and legs were a dark tan and carved in scars from his many raids. He was a fair man and always put his people and family first. Sitting to his right where his two sons.

Alec and Marcus Alfson were spitting images of their father. Alec wi,th his dirty blond hair and ocean blue eyes he, stood 6'5. Scars covered his body and over his left eye from his raids with his brother and father. Marcus stood an inch shorter than his older twin brother. He had light brown hair that was short on the sides and long on top. His forest green eyes were in perfect harmony with his light tan skin that matched his brothers. The only difference between Marcus and alec with MarMarcus'ars were hidden from view.

The brother looked the same but their personality was different. While Alec was quiet and more of a loner, Marcus was the opposite, He was outspoken and always smiling.  They were rough people but gentle to their little sisters.

Sitting on the throne to the left of maddox was his most precious possession. His youngest child and only daughter Charmine alfson. If you ask her father and brothers they would tell you she was a copy of his mother. Long blond hair that dragged behind her when out of its normal ponytail. Her hair was adorned with feathers and beading. Her two different eyes were one of her favorite things. On the left was forest green and on the right was ocean blue. Light tan adored his skin and unlike her brothers and father had no scars. Charmine was only 19 summers old and stood at 5'11, she was easily the tallest woman in the village.

The family was biggest family is Lundar, but also the gentlest. No one but the family knows that. The rest of the village saw them as the tough chief family they were. Ruthless is what their friends would call them will on the battle flied.

The fire was lit and people were crowding the main hall celebrating the success of another raid. Spoils lined the ground of the thrones. Food and drinks were lining the tables and people laughed and cheered with one other. The raid had been a great success with lots of gold, rich, and furs for the whole village.

"Chief, come and celebrate the raid with the rest of us,"  the warrior, Njal, asks his friend of many years. Chief Maddox smiled softly and nodded at his friend.
