The next morning Charmaine peaked her head around the main door looking for her father. She knows if her father saw her she would be in trouble. The coast was clear. She started to slowly walk through the main hall.
Charmaine was watching everything that was happening around her. She had made it to the throne and was slowly slipping behind it when she felt angry eyes on her.
"Charmaine!" The voice was strong and mad. She know that right away it was her father.
"Hi, daddy. Before u get mad let me explain." She lightly pleaded with her father.
"Explain. Explain what Charmaine. That you sneak out and didn't tell me or the fact that you know you are not allowed to go outside, at night, alone!" Maddox was furious. She had disobeyed one of his rules.
"Daddy please, just let me explain. I didn't want to stay in my room all night listening to everyone laugh and cheer, while I was alone." She hoped her father would take it easy on her. She didn't mean to break the rules she just wanted some fresh air.
"Little one you know the rules are there to protect you."
"No there not! You made them because you were scared. Scared of the world out there, but i'm not and I want to be able to go where I please when I please. I don't need you or the twins to watch my every move."
After her light outburst, silent tears started to fall her Rosie's cheeks. She hated yelling at her father but it needed to be said. She had been holding it in for years.
Maddox saw how his daughter was hurting but his fears blocked his reasonable thought.
Her body started to shake from all the emotions and thoughts swirling around her head. Her body was trying to change into its wolf form. Maddox saw his daughter starting to change and walked slowly over to her.
"It's ok little cub, you're not in trouble. I promise," He finally gets to her. Fur was started to replace her hair. Her nose, arms and legs start to in-long. Her wolf, Gudrun, begged to be let out.
"Charmaine, I need you to breath with me." He put his hands on her arms and looked her straight in the blood-red eyes. "Please Charmaine try to breathe."
He started to breathe slowly to show her what to do. She started copping him. Breathing in and out slowly. Her legs and arm went back to their normal length and the fur returned to hair. When she was calm and the changing had stopped, maddox pulled his daughter into a hug.
"It's ok my little cub."
They stayed by the thrones just hugging for a minute. Charmaine gently pulled out of her father's hold.
"I'm sorry daddy. I won't do it again." Tears were rolling down her cheeks. Her blood-red eyes were still present.
"I am not mad charmaine. I just expected more from you. You know there are hunters out there that would kill you in an instant. I just don't want to lose you the way I lost your mother."
"And you won't daddy. I promise. I'm going nowhere. Even if you try to get rid of me, I'll still be there," She gives her father another hug. When she pulled away for him, her eyes were back to normal.
"Mhm I know little cub, but I still worry. I know you can take care of yourself in a fight but they have weapons that would kill you with one shot. I don't do this to hurt you. I promise." He looked at his daughter with trust in his eyes. Maddox know she was one of the strongest war maids in the village but he had dealt with hunters before and know they were not easy to take down. He had scars to prove it. So did his sons.
With one last gentle pat on her arm, maddox started towards his room.
"Daddy. Can I ask you something?"
