Chapter 2.
It’s been a week from finding out we are having a gorgeous baby, we’ve been to the doctor to confirm the pregnancy and I have left college.
It’s our niece 3rd birthday today and we are going over for her party. I’m so excited, it’s the first time we’ve seen everyone since breaking the news that we are having a baby, although Matt’s older sister hasn’t taken the news too great, but then we weren’t expecting her too, although we have never had much of a problem with her, she has never liked me.
Matt’s family are very tightly combined and they think that I have taken away their brother/son. They are all very pleasant to my face but you can see the truth behind the smiles.
As we set off for the 40 minute drive to Matt’s sister’s we were both quietly thinking about things to come.
“Alice” Matt suddenly proclaims
What? Oh wait the maneAlicefor a girl? Hmm maybe, but what could we put with it, I really want the middle name to be something close to either of our family, so it has to be a family name. But what sounds good withAlice?
“Alice Sophia. After your mum?” Matt says, he glances at me as he pulls up to a traffic light.
Alice Sophia? “maybe” I reply knowing that it has already been put in the others list of our planning.
Ouch, ohh, whats that pain? I lift myself up hilding onto the seat and the car handle, trying to not make it too obvious to Matt that I suddenly have a pain my lower back and bum. I wonder what it could be? It’s not been mentioned in any of the books I have read that says I might have a pain around this time. The doctor said I was only 6 weeks pregnant.
This pain continues to get worse over the next 20 minutes, Matt finally realises something isn’t right when we come into the last town before Kelly’s. (His youngest sisters) I think he’s been trying to talk to me for a while but all that I can process is the pain that keeps growing and how much I want to be able to get up and alk around.
“Jessica what is the matter!” Matt almost shouts at me, while trying to keep hold of any patience he might have left.
“I-I’m having a l-lot of pain in m-my lower back Matt” I just manage tp breathe out.
“Shall I pull into the hospital and just have them check you out quickly?” I look over and see the scared paled look that’s over taken his beautiful face and the worry that’s in his eyes is so obvious.
“No lets just go to May’s birthday party, and if I’m still feeling it after a couple hours we’ll call back in there and have them check” Sounding much more confident than I am currently feeling, we continue to chat about mindless stuff all the way to Kelly’s.
By the time we finally got there I really needed another wee, they weren’t joking when they say peeing like a pregnant person eh!? Arg my bladder is not going to last much longer!
Walking straight into her flat I head to the toilet before speaking to anyone. Once I pull down my jeans and panties I find the one thing I was dreading more than anything! Blood! And lots of it!
Containing the tears as best as possible I clear myself up and try and find some kind of pad in my sister in laws batroom. Finally finding something I walk out if there, hopung she won’t mind!
I walk past my mother in law and niece like they aren’t even there, with robotic movements and speech I find Matt in the living room laughing with Kelly.
Our eyes lock over the toom and he instantly kows something is wrong, my bright blue eyes dim and barely holding back the river of tears that want to burst out.
“We have to get to hospital. I’m bleeding, a lot and need a doctor fast!”
No other words are needed before I’m dragged from the flat with only Matts arms holding me up as we get back into the car and head for the hospital!
