earlier, mason called esme and told her to get dressed in something nice, but not too fancy.

"we've been in the woods for hours, walking." esme complained. "it's literally been 2 minutes." mason said checking his phone.

they were at a deck and a huge lake with trees surrounded them, with a boat tied to the edge.

"mason, i can't kayak." esme said. "it's canoeing." mason corrected. "same thing." mason rolled his eyes at esme.

"we're here to do your favorite thing, wait for it......picnic!" mason said bouncing up and down.

honestly esme really wanted to go home, but mason looked so proud and so happy she just couldn't.

"let's picnic!" esme said sititng down on the blanket mason layed out.

"you see that cloud? it looks like a dragon." mason said laying down. "i don't see it." esme squinted.

"lay down." mason said. "oh. i see it." esme said laughing.

mason looked at esme. she was so pretty when she laughed. "mase, i thought we were observing the clouds." esme said turning to the boy.

"i'd rather observe you." mason said. "that's sweet, but the clouds are nicer." "i disagree. i think you are." mason said sitting up, and leaning down to kiss esme.

esme sat up, looking at mason. "your so cute." she said grabbing his neck and kissing mason again.

mason pulled away, "es do you want to be my girlfriend?" he said still holding esme's face. "what? duh." she said.

"oh just get over here." mason said grabbing esme and hugging her. "mason you're hugging me really-shit!" esme said as mason leaned them over so she was laying on top of him.

"you're warm." she said closing her eyes as she layed on his chest. "what can i say, i have a lot of warmth in my heart." mason said in esme's shoulder.

"what happened to the food?" esme said suddenly. "oh shit." mason said laughing.
