Taliya's POV
Allison and I woke up late so we had to rush to get ready since Chris will be busy with an actual sale to the Beacon Hills police force later today. Due to us waking up late we were almost late to school but we arrived a bit later than normal. When we were walking towards our lockers we were tackled by somebody causing me to start to panic, thinking somebody else was going to start attacking me.
"You're ok, she's not here to hurt you and nobody else is going to hurt you." I heard Allison say in my ear, snapping me back to reality.
"Thank you." I said softly.
"We can head home if you want." Allison said gently. "I can let one of the teachers know so that way we can leave."
"No, we have to stay here to keep an eye on wolfy to make sure he doesn't hurt anybody." I said, steeling myself before getting up. "I'm fine now."
"Are you sure?" Allison asked, worry very evident in her voice.
"Yes Allison, I'm fine and we've got responsibilities that can't be put off because of a minor panic attack." I said gently. "Now come on before we're late to class."
"Alright, I'll take your word for it." Allison relented hesitantly. "By the way, Scott asked me to hang out with him tonight."
"Who, and did he use the exact phrase hang out?" I asked curiously.
"Wolfy, as you've started calling him, and yes." Allison answered on our way to class.
"I'm calling it, he's gonna end up at least interested in a dude romantically in the future." I said and she laughed but agreed with me.
We sat in class and I could smell the panic rolling off of wolfy from the doorway, yes I sympathize with him but I don't really know how to help him. As we were sitting in class bald boy was constantly yammering in wolfy's ear about something until Mr. Harris caught them. He was in the middle of telling them to switch seats when a girl in class shouted that somebody found something about something. Everybody except me rushed over to the window while Mr. Harris kept trying to order everyone back to their seats. He spotted me still in my seat and looked surprised for a moment before giving a nod of appreciation and schooling his features back to neutrality. Out of nowhere everybody screamed, scaring the crap out of me and nearly giving me a heart attack.
At lunch Allison decided we should sit at the same table as wolfy and baldy which is where seemingly everybody decided to sit today, the only plus side is that Lydia also sat at that table so I know more than just Allison here. We were sitting for about a minute while wolfy and baldy were in shocked disbelief and muttering to each other before Jackson sat down. One of the guys at the table started talking about what was going on while Allison and I along with wolfy and baldy already knew exactly what was going on just not how to stop it quite yet.
"I heard it was a mountain lion." The boy said before Jackson perked up.
"I heard it was a cougar." Jackson input, even I know that those two are the same thing.
"A cougar is a mountain lion." Lydia corrected before gaining a look on her face that I don't recognize. "Isn't it?"
"Yeah, it is." I confirmed quietly, just loud enough to be heard.
"Anyway, I heard you and Scott are hanging out." Lydia turned her attention to Allison for a moment. "So any idea on where we're going, cause I'm not spending another night at home watching lacrosse videos."
Both Allison and wolfy are in stunned silence while baldy is quietly laughing at them. I don't actually know how to react to what's happening right now so I'm choosing to stay quiet.
"How about bowling?" Lydia questions those included in the event before turning to Jackson. "You like bowling."
"Yeah, with actual competition." Jackson responded with a scoff.
"How do you know we're not actual competition?" Allison countered with a challenging look on her face and a spark in her eyes. "You're good at bowling right?"
"Sort of." Was Wolfy's epic response, nobody was impressed.
"Is that a sort of or a yes?" Jackson asked with a cocky smirk on his face.
"Yes, in fact I'm a great bowler!" Wolfy declared and I could tell by the look on baldy's face that what wolfy just said was a total lie.
"Great, that's settled then." Lydia said happily.
"I found out who the victim was." Baldy spoke up, drawing everybody's attention to him as he placed his phone on the lunch table where everybody could see, if they'd like to start breathing the same air as everybody else.
"I know him, he used to drive the bus I rode when I lived with my dad." Wolfy said, surprising everybody.
Soon after that lunch ended and Allison and I returned to classes until we headed home. When we reached home we saw Chris with a whole group of people all armed with guns.
"A werewolf attacked that man, we need to find it and put it down before it attacks another person." Chris said sternly, getting nods of confirmation from the other hunters. "Allison, Taliya, work on your training together and then do your homework."
"Yes Dad, be safe out there all of you." Allison said, addressing everybody. "I don't want to hear about one of you dying, especially not because of a rookie mistake."
"Yes ma'am." The hunters sounded before Chris led them out of the house and to the vehicles.
"Looks like somebody's taking their future position seriously already." I said in slight surprise.
"Better early than late, maybe we can save more lives if I'm prepared for my responsibilities early." Allison reasoned.
"Sound reasoning, but what if lives are lost because you started putting the pressure on yourself too early causing you to buckle at a key moment?" I countered.
"Then I've got you to bail me out of trouble." Allison answered with a smirk. "Now, we've got training to do and tomorrow I'll be busy, will you be alright here without me?"
"Yeah, I think so." I answered. "Go and have fun hanging out with wolfy, Lydia, and Jackson tomorrow."
